News & Announcements China Shanghai International Circuit October 10
On October 8th, the 2025 Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race officially kicked off at the Shanghai International Circuit. Uno Racing Team, comprised of Pan Junlin, Wang Yibo, Rio, and Sérgio Sette Câmara, drove the #85 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II to compete in the event. With an outstanding performance throughout, they secured second place in the GT3 PA class!
This year marks the third consecutive year that Uno Racing Team has participated in the Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race. This year's event features a diverse field of elite racers from both domestic and international racing. The #85 team faced numerous challenges on the track, testing their skills and stability. During the arduous eight-hour race, complex traffic and fluctuating temperatures also impacted the field, testing the team's adaptability and decision-making abilities.
A hot start: A fierce race is about to begin.
Thanks to its outstanding performance in qualifying, the No. 85 car started from the front row in the race, with Pan Junlin as the starting driver. The car got off to a strong start, seizing the lead and briefly leading the field. He then adopted a more measured approach, steadily advancing to second place in the GT3 PA class. This race was plagued by numerous surprises in the early stages, but Pan Junlin maintained his fiery form, maintaining a solid lead in the class and laying a solid foundation for the long race ahead.
Amidst a chaotic race, frequent yellow flags helped maintain a steady pace.
After the one-hour mark, the race was marked by full-course yellow flags, and Wang Yibo took over. The EVISU-exclusively signed driver was third in his class after leaving the pits, and he steadily improved his pace to second overall and first in his class. Wang Yibo demonstrated a solid performance in his endurance race debut. Amidst frequent accidents and yellow flags, he maintained a steady pace and completed a double stint.
During Wang Yibo's time in the race, frequent safety car deployments created a complex race landscape. Despite fluctuations in the rankings, the No. 85 car remained firmly at the top of the field and second in its class. However, during a fierce battle after the restart, the No. 85 car was hit by a competitor's mistake in overtaking, resulting in damage to the right rear and a flat tire. Faced with this unforeseen situation, Wang Yibo was forced to pit and, despite the difficulty, brought the car back safely. The team then removed and reattached the damaged carbon fiber bodywork.
This unplanned repair cost the No. 85 car two laps, dropping its overall position from fourth to fourteenth, and its class ranking from second to third. After the team efficiently repaired the car, Pan Junlin returned to the race and gradually clawed his way back into the top ten. Rio then took his first leg, aggressively pursuing the challenge, and the No. 85 car remained in third place in the class.
A fierce midfield battle: A critical repair of cooling damage
As the race progressed, the track conditions became increasingly complex, putting the car's stability under increasing pressure. Rio fought hard to finish seventh overall, but an accident later damaged the car's cooling system, causing sand and gravel to ingest. This stained the windshield and severely reduced the driver's visibility. Despite severely limited visibility, Rio, drawing on years of experience from previous races, flexibly navigated the car back to the pits. The team immediately initiated emergency repairs, efficiently clearing the foreign matter sucked into the car within 10 minutes, draining the entire cooling system, and replacing the water tank. While this extreme repair cost the #85 crew five laps, it ensured the car experienced no further issues for the remaining four-plus hours of the race.
Breaking Through Adversity: A Willpowerful Pursuit
Although a mechanical problem midway through the race caused car No. 85 to drop in the overall rankings, the Uno Racing Team, leveraging its previously accumulated advantages, maintained a top-three position in the class. After the problem was resolved, Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara returned to the track, placing the team in 17th place overall. Sette Câmara gradually picked up the pace after taking the field, rapidly closing in. During the chase, Sette Câmara keenly seized an opportunity to overtake, and while jockeying for position, he unexpectedly made contact with his opponent while maintaining abreast of the track. With experience in top-tier international racing, Sette Câmara remained undeterred by this seemingly unremarkable incident. Amidst the constant challenges, he piloted the No. 85 car through several laps of tireless effort, returning to the top ten overall. The eight-hour endurance race drew to a close.
Twilight Showdown: A Desperate Sprint to Second Place
With just over an hour remaining in the race, Rio took over the car and launched a final sprint. Rio steadily advanced throughout the race, rising to ninth overall and second in the GT3 PA class with consistent performance. In the final half hour of the race, an accident triggered another full-course yellow flag, and the situation on the field suddenly changed. The eight-hour endurance showdown would ultimately be decided by a 20-minute sprint.
After the race resumed, Rio fought hard in the twilight, maintaining his position in a fierce battle, ultimately crossing the finish line in ninth place. Pan Junlin, Wang Yibo, Rio, and Sérgio Sette Câmara also shared the GT3 PA podium, securing second place in their category!
Throughout the 8-hour endurance race, the Uno Racing Team steadily advanced, ultimately overcoming the odds and landing on the podium in their respective categories. This marks the conclusion of the Uno Racing Team's 2025 Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race. We look forward to the team achieving even greater success in future competitions!
