2025 Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race Provisional Entry List Announced: Team and Driver Introductions

From October 6th to 8th, 2025, at the Shanghai International Circuit, the 2025 Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race will ignite during the National Day Golden Week holiday! This exclusive Shanghai endurance race will return this year, bringing elite teams, top drivers, and rising stars from across China and Asia to the Chinese F1 Grand Prix, presenting a golden autumn racing feast with professional competition and exciting battles.
As the race approaches, the Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race has announced its provisional entry list, with a record-breaking 29 cars set to compete. Seventeen cars will compete for overall victory and the class title in the GT3 class. Five world-renowned GT3 cars, including the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Ferrari 296 GT3, Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, and Porsche 911 GT3 R, will compete in the flagship class.
A total of nine GT4 cars from four major brands, Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche, will compete in the GTS class, while two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will compete in the GTC class. At the same time, TCR-spec touring cars will make their debut at the Shanghai 8 Hours, further diversifying the field.

GT3 Powerhouse: A Star-Rated Endurance Race
As the premier class, the GT3 category maintains its high-profile lineup, welcoming many strong contenders and teams. Origine Motorsport, the outright winner of the past two events, will field two teams vying for the title. The #87 Porsche 911 GT3 R will be driven by Liu Hangcheng, Yuan Bo, and Gu Meng, while the #86 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO will be led by Jiang Jiawei, whose teammates will be announced in a subsequent update.
Harmony Racing, the overall runner-up in last year's event, also brings a strong lineup. Malaysian driver Jason Loh returns to the race, partnering with Zhang Yaqi and Liao Qishun in the #33R Harmony Racing Ferrari 296 GT3. Professional drivers Deng Yi and Luo Kailuo will team up with Li Hanyu in the #37 Winhere Harmony Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II.
Uno Racing Team, the overall runner-up at the 2023 Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race, will field four drivers: Pan Junlin and Wang Yibo, class champions at the 2025 CHINA GT season opener, will continue to pilot the No. 85 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, embarking on a new endurance racing journey. Both drivers will be assisted by Uno Racing Team star driver Rio and former F2 champion Sérgio Sette Camara, and their performance is highly anticipated.
Climax Racing, third overall winners at last year's Shanghai 8 Hours, will also field two cars. Chen Fangping/Li Lichao/Zhou Bihuang/Elias Seppanen and Li Dongsheng/Li Donghui/Zhou Liyuan/Lü Wei will drive the #710 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO and the #777 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, respectively.
Frankenstein Racing will debut with a three-driver lineup at the Shanghai 8 Hours: Zhou Yiran, who already has experience in international GT3 endurance races, will team up with Louis Prette and A. Scott in the #22 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO to tackle the challenging Shanghai F1 circuit.
HZO Fortis Racing by Absolute Racing returns to the Shanghai 8 Hours. Featuring an all-Malaysian driver lineup, Haziq Zairel OH teams up with Aaron Lim and Akash Nandy in the #5 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II. Another Malaysian duo is VIPER Niza Racing's Douglas Khoo, Dominic Ang, and Melvin Moh, all driving the #65 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO.
Many emerging GT teams have also become a force to be reckoned with in this year's event. On the Z.SPEED team, ParkingPark Racing by Z.SPEED's Zhang Zhendong and Zhang Mingyang will take on the endurance challenge, driven by 2025 CHINA GT Drivers' Champion Erik Johansson. The Z.SPEED Community team, comprised of Yang Haojie, Jiang Nan, and Tang Zihao, will both compete in BMW M4 GT3 EVOs.
The all-new GAHA Racing team, also affiliated with BMW, will drive the #328 BMW M4 GT3 EVO.
326 Racing Team will feature key drivers Wu Yifan and Liu Zichen, partnered with Xu Zheyu in the #50 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II.
Incipient Racing's #69 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II will be driven by Xiao Min, Yu Tong, Yang Xiaowei, and Hu Haoheng.
The 610 Racing team entered an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II and a Porsche 911 GT3 R. The four-ring GT3 car will be piloted by the team of Li Tianduo/Wang Yang/Lin Weixiong/Deng Tianfu.

GTS Class: Strong Teams Emerge, Diverse Competition
The competitive landscape in the GTS class is equally exciting. GT3 teams including GAHA Racing, Incipient Racing, and 610Racing are also competing in the GTS class. GAHA Racing's Liang Jiatong/Xu Huibin/Chen Shugang/Wang Chen will team up in a BMW M4 GT4. Incipient Racing's Wu Zhenlong/Che Shaoyi/Zhu Jinwu/He Baifeng will team up in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. 610Racing will also field a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in the GTS class, with its driver lineup yet to be announced.
The Mogan Team Track Day King, active in major races in South China, will compete in the Shanghai 8 Hours for the first time this year. Deng Yucheng/Chen Jiaping/Lu Qifeng will drive a Mercedes-AMG GT4. Level Motorsport's Chen Junhua/Liu Weizhi/Zhang Boshang and Pointer Racing's Huang Hui/Huang Weibo will also be making their first appearance at the Shanghai endurance race, both using Mercedes-AMG GT4s.
Tianshi Racing Team entered the only Aston Martin AMR Vantage GT4 in the field. Liu Peiji, Liu Taiji, and Han Dongjun will compete alongside them. This race marks Han Dongjun's first experience in a long-distance race from the cockpit of a GT car.
Zenith Racing, comprised of Li Zonglin, Li Ning, He Zeyu, and Li Jun, will compete in a BMW M4 GT4.
Ultimate Racing Team's Yang Chunlei, Zhang Wenyan, Zhang Banggui, and Wang Haohao will compete in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

GTC/TCR Class: Ready to Go
610 Racing's comprehensive efforts also extend to the GTC class, with two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup entries. The #99 car has been confirmed to be driven by Wang Jiahao, Gan Erfu, Zhang Meng, and Liu Chao.
Mogan Team Track Day King is the first team to confirm its entry in the TCR class. Hu Weixiong, Zhang Zian, and Zheng Jiansheng will team up in a Honda Civic Type R FK7 TCR.
