OK Racing wins both races in the TCE group at the 2025 CEC Pingtan Station

News & Announcements China Pingtan Street Circuit September 15

From September 12th to 14th, the third round of the 2025 Xiaomi China Endurance Championship concluded at the Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit. The OK Racing team once again delivered a flawless performance, sweeping the GT Cup TCE class with both cars taking first and second place in both rounds. The four drivers' impeccable performances extended the team's undefeated streak in the class throughout the 2025 season.

A dangerous first round, but teamwork translated into victory

For the OK Racing team and its four drivers, the Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit was a completely unfamiliar arena. Faced with unpredictable challenges, the team raced against time to study the track's characteristics and precisely tune the cars, laying a solid foundation for the race. Clearly, Zhang Zecheng/Liu Donghan, driving the No. 12 Audi, demonstrated impressive performances from qualifying and practice, leveraging their extensive experience. Not only did they easily secure pole position in the GT Cup TCE class, but they also finished in the top three in both qualifying sessions, establishing a strong start for both rounds.

Facing the fifth and sixth races of the 2025 season, OK Racing, with the No. 12 Zhang Zecheng/Liu Donghan lineup, has already secured three victories, demonstrating their determination to win. On the other side of the pits, the No. 11 car welcomed a new driver. Li Donglai and Yang Yang also secured impressive starting positions, starting Saturday's first round second in their class and fifth overall.

After the start of the race, the two teams maintained a 1-2 group ranking in the TCE class, with No. 12 Zhang Zecheng/Liu Donghan leapfrogging to second overall. However, the good times didn't last long, as the No. 12 Audi RS 3 LMS TCR experienced a sudden malfunction and was in critical condition. Zhang Zecheng revealed after the race that a half-axle failure nearly ended the race prematurely.

"I think the entire team performed exceptionally well. In particular, during a repair, we quickly replaced a half-axle, demonstrating efficiency and swiftness." Young teammate Liu Donghan considered the accident a blessing in disguise, as the excellent teamwork allowed the car to complete repairs and catch up. He said, "When the red flag came on, our car sustained some damage during the pit stop. Fortunately, we had completed repairs by the time the red flag ended."

With the accident of car #12, the responsibility for the championship shifted to the shoulders of their teammate, car #11. Li Donglai and Yang Yang overcame their fear of wall-to-wall driving in street races and withstood immense pressure to secure the group championship. After repairs, car #12 fought back to regain second place in the group, securing another championship and runner-up spot for the team.

After lifting his first National Endurance Championship trophy, Li Donglai excitedly stated, "I think the Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit is quite challenging for us. Ruyi Bay is a severe test of the drivers' courage and control skills. Add to that the scorching weather in Fujian today, and it's a tough challenge for both driver and vehicle. Yes, I've been training myself physically lately and have been fully prepared for this race. Today's result has proven my ability."

Li Donglai and Yang Yang win their second consecutive victory, growing stronger with each race

OK Racing once again dominated the TCE class. Early in Sunday's race, both OK Racing cars held the top two spots. However, a sudden safety car disrupted the team's rhythm. OK Racing failed to adjust their strategy following the safety car, and their position in the field declined.

Li Donglai explained after the race: "During the first safety car deployment, there were two cars on the track with problems, which resulted in a long restart. Given these circumstances, our team chose not to pit during the first safety car stop because it was too early."

However, in the second half of the race, we encountered some unexpected situations, which are part of racing, although somewhat regrettable. Ultimately, our team succeeded, with both cars completing the race and ultimately winning the team championship." Li Donglai expressed great satisfaction with this hard-earned victory.

In addition, the No. 12 car also successfully secured second place in the TCE class after experiencing a malfunction, allowing Zhang Zecheng/Liu Donghan to maintain their lead in the GT Cup TCE class standings. After the race, Liu Donghan once again thanked the team for their dedication and hard work. "Since practice, under the guidance of my teammates, my speed has improved lap by lap. I'm grateful to them. And in today's race, I'm most grateful to the technicians. After the emergency repairs, we were able to maintain a reasonable position."

With this, OK Racing once again concluded their Landao campaign as a winner, maintaining their undefeated group record this season. The next CEC race will be in Tianjin. We look forward to OK Racing continuing their efforts and striving for even greater success with their dual-car lineup.
