The 2026 CEC provisional calendar has been officially announced, and a brand-new competition format has been released.
Racing News & Updates November 10

On November 9th, after fierce competition in Chengdu, Ningbo, Pingtan, and Tianjin, the 2025 Xiaomi China Endurance Championship (CEC) Annual Awards Ceremony concluded, with the winners of various CEC awards being announced. At the same time, the tentative calendar for the 2026 CEC was officially announced, along with a new race format. The national endurance championship will be further upgraded, and efforts will be made to build bridges for international racing exchange.

Racing Spirit Unites Us, Gratitude for the Season's Companionship

At the awards banquet, He Jiandong, Vice Chairman of the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation, delivered the opening speech. He emotionally recalled the highlights of the entire season: "**Everyone strived for excellence throughout the year, fully embodying the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and pushing limits. This year, CEC welcomed Xiaomi as its title sponsor, and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Xiaomi and other companies that have shown concern for and participated in the event." He Jiandong stated that the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation (CAMF) will continue to increase its support for the event, working hand in hand with Weitian Sports to provide a better racing environment and atmosphere for more participants, sponsors, media friends, and spectators, jointly promoting Chinese motorsport to new heights.

Three Major Breakthroughs in 2025, Striving to Bridge International Events in 2026

Zhong Min, General Manager of Zhejiang Weitian Sports Co., Ltd., summarized the breakthroughs and highlights of the 2025 season from three dimensions:
1
Xiaomi becomes the title sponsor of the China Endurance Championship for the first time. We thank Xiaomi and all our partners for injecting strong momentum into Chinese motorsport.
2
The CEC added the GTL category this year, providing valuable data for domestic racing car development and becoming a major highlight of this season.
3
Multiple teams in the National Cup have deepened their cooperation with domestic brands, and an increasing number of domestically produced racing aftermarket parts and accessories are appearing in national-level events, showcasing the strength and confidence of "Made in China."
Looking ahead to 2026, CEC will partner with the 24 Hours of Europe to jointly promote endurance racing in Asia. Creventic, the organizer of the 24 Hours of Europe, will come to CEC in 2026 to participate in the technical and operational aspects of the race; they will also bring top European teams and drivers to participate in CEC races. Simultaneously, the 24 Hours of Europe will invite CEC's top drivers to compete overseas, qualifying directly for the Abu Dhabi 6 Hours endurance race in January 2027, truly realizing "Chinese racing going global."

2026 Race Calendar Released: Reaching China's Top Circuits

At the awards ceremony, the provisional race calendar for the 2026 CEC was officially announced, featuring 4+1 races throughout the year, traversing the heart of major Chinese cities and reaching China's top circuits:
1
R1 Shanghai 4 Hours (April 24-26)
The season opener will take place at China's only F1 circuit – the Shanghai International Circuit – igniting the competition with a 4-hour endurance race.
2
R2 Zhuhai 4 Hours (June 12-14)
In June, the race moves to the Zhuhai International Circuit, a hub for teams from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and a favorite track for Chinese drivers. They will compete in their second 4-hour race here.
3
R3 Tianjin 4 Hours (September 11-13)
The third round of the season will take place at the FIA-certified Grade 2 circuit in North China – the Tianjin V1 International Circuit, a crucial points battleground in the middle of the season.
4
R4 Wuhan 6 Hours (October 23-25)
The race will be held at the Wuhan International Circuit, with the race duration increased to 6 hours for the first time. This will undoubtedly place higher demands on driver stamina and car stability.
5
R5 12 Hours (TBA)
The final battle is highly anticipated, with a potential 12-hour extreme challenge. This will be the decisive battleground for endurance drivers.

Endurance Upgrade, Race Format Aligned with International Standards

CEC Race Director Zhao Dan officially released the 2026 season's upgraded race format plan:
1
Technological Upgrade: Fully introduce the Mylaps Driver ID system to achieve accurate tracking and real-time analysis of driver data.
2
Group Optimization: Re-divide groups based on car type and performance to improve competitive fairness and entertainment value.
3
Upgraded Duration: Each race in the 2026 CEC finals will start at 4 hours, gradually increasing to 6 hours and even 12 hours, truly showcasing the charm of Chinese endurance racing and testing the limits of team strategy, endurance, and teamwork.
4
Registration Rules: GT Cup: Each car is limited to 2-3 participants, with only 1 professional driver allowed; National Cup: Each car is limited to 2-4 participants. This arrangement aims to align with international racing standards—especially for GT Cup teams, who, after experiencing the CEC, can seamlessly transition to international endurance racing. **
