1. Background and significance of the event
The FIA Formula 4 event was founded in 2014 to build a bridge between karting and F3 events, and to open up a professional path for young drivers and formula enthusiasts to gradually advance from karting to F1. Since its establishment in 2015, the FIA Formula 4 China Championship has been hosted by the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation and exclusively operated and promoted by Mingtai Motorsports Co., Ltd.
As of 2024, the championship has delivered 10 annual champions to the FIA, and these young drivers continue to grow on a higher racing stage. This event is not only a cradle for cultivating outstanding local Chinese racing talents, but also an important platform for international racing talent exchanges, which is of great significance to promoting the development of Chinese racing.
2. Event Highlights
(I) Glorious history of co-hosting
The event has been held on the same field with top international racing events for many times, such as the WTCR China Ningbo and Wuhan stations in 2017-2018, the F1 Chinese Grand Prix (the 1000th event in history) in 2019, the Macau Grand Prix for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022, and the F1 Chinese Grand Prix again in 2024, witnessing the first Chinese F1 driver Zhou Guanyu's home race, which greatly enhanced the popularity and influence of the event.
(II) Powerful media communication matrix
The event has a full range of multi-level media communication channels, covering TV news reporting platforms, self-media platforms, event live broadcast platforms, broadcast media and paper media reports. Through TV media such as Southeast TV, Strait TV, TVB, and self-media platforms such as Sina Weibo, bilibili, WeChat, Toutiao, and Douyin, the average radiation of the event is nearly 100 million people per season, providing a wide range of exposure opportunities for teams and drivers.
(III) Advanced racing cars
The second-generation racing car released in 2023 has many advantages. Its weight can be as low as 500KG, its power can reach 180HP, and it is equipped with a 1.3T engine, which is more environmentally friendly. It adopts the latest FIA standard carbon fiber monocoque, which is safer than F3 and F2 racing cars. In terms of frame and chassis, the HALO system is added, the anti-roll cage load is enhanced, and the water cooling and air cooling systems are improved; the engine complies with FIA regulations, equipped with Magneti Marelli electronic equipment and the latest FIA ADR system; the gearbox is a new SADEV gearbox, maintenance-free and adopts a new electric shift, which is managed by the ECU. These advanced configurations improve the performance of the car and also provide strong support for the team and drivers to achieve good results in the competition.

IV. Competition Rules
(I) Competition Requirements
- Drivers holding the China Automobile Federation National Class A, Class B, Class C and International Class C licenses are allowed to participate.
- Drivers holding the Hong Kong Automobile Association, the Macau Automobile Association and the Chinese Taipei Automobile Association must hold a license of the same level as the China Automobile Federation National Class A, Class B, Class C and International Class C licenses, and present a letter of consent to participate.
- Foreign drivers not from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Chinese Taipei can participate with their national or international licenses and present a letter of consent.
- Drivers holding international A and B licenses are not allowed to participate.
(II) Starting rules
- First round final: The starting order is determined by the official results of the first qualifying session.
- Second round final: The starting order is determined in reverse order based on the official results of the first round final.
- Third round final: The starting order is determined by the official results of the second qualifying session.
- Fourth round final: The starting order is determined in reverse order based on the official results of the third round final.
(III) Driver categories
- F4 group: 15 years old or older, younger than 21 years old.
- Masters group: 40 years old or older.
- CFGP group: 21 years old or older, younger than 40 years old.
(IV) Points Rules
Each round of the race will earn points according to the driver's finishing position. The specific points are as follows:

In addition, there is a super license points rule, which is of great significance to the development of drivers in the field of international racing.
(V) Competition Tires & Fuel
- The designated tires for the event are SAILUN, with an official price of ¥7,300 per set. During the two free practice sessions, 2 sets of dry tires are allowed; the first race in which the contestant participates is allowed to use 2 sets of new dry tires; during qualifying and the final, 5 sets of new dry tires are allowed.
- The event uses a unified fuel supply, the price is ¥18 yuan/liter.

(II) Annual Team Awards
Teams also have the opportunity to receive honors and awards in the event, which will motivate teams to improve their overall strength and cooperation level and provide better support for drivers.
VI. Registration fees and related services
Registration is only for teams that register for the annual event. The fees cover vehicle transportation, competition certificates, race day P room, official body logo stickers, team walkie-talkies, driver race day insurance, race day VIP hospitality, race uniform official logo stickers and other services, providing all-round protection for the team's participation, allowing the team to focus on the competition.
