The 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China GR86 Cup competition system is as follows:

Competition Purpose

Practice the sustainable development goals of automobile sports, combine with "making better cars", create a resonant competition for automobile sports enthusiasts, adhere to the principles of safe competition and fair competition, provide safety management, enrich the domestic small-displacement rear-wheel drive car unified competition format, and provide drivers with a competitive and advanced platform and license upgrade conditions.

Eligibility

  1. The participating vehicle must be an official GR86 Cup Car or a GR86 racing car that is allowed to participate in the competition. The organizing committee reserves the right to refuse participation.

  2. The driver must hold a valid national Class B or above racing license issued by the China Automobile Federation, or an equivalent racing license issued by the automobile federation of the country where the foreign driver is located.

  3. The driver must hold personal accident insurance with a coverage of RMB 700,000 or more and accident medical insurance with a coverage of RMB 300,000 or more.

Race Specifications

Unified vehicle inspection and vehicle inspection specifications; In 2025, the engine and gearbox lead seals will be added and data engineers will be equipped; The official uniform provision of tires, gasoline, brake discs, and brake pads, tire warmers are prohibited, and tires can be marked with a maximum of 3 sets of new tires or 2 sets of new tires plus one marked old tire per game; Official Excellence Group (AT), Elite Group (MT), and Greater Bay Area Cup (Group S, Group N); Provide official certification upgrades MT gearbox and AT differential end teeth; Open personal vehicle painting but must retain the official LOGO position; The race adopts a dynamic starting procedure.

Race Process

Each race has one 30-minute official practice; one 30-minute qualifying session, and the qualifying results determine the starting position for the first round; The first round final is 60 kilometers or 30 minutes, and the starting position is based on the qualifying results; The second round final is 60 kilometers or 30 minutes, and the starting position starts in reverse order, and the first round champion draws 6, 8, and 10.

Points Rules

Each race pole position, fastest lap time winner, and top 10 finishers in the race will earn points. MT and AT groups will earn points separately. The annual champion, runner-up, and third place will be awarded to the drivers with the highest, second, and third points in the year. Only official vehicles registered for the year can earn points. No points will be awarded if the number of races is less than 75% (inclusive) of the year.
