Affected by the rain before the race, the track was still in a semi-dry state before the start of the second round of the final, which made the driving of the GT car challenging. Weather changes also affected the tire strategies of each team. The tire selection at the start became a key factor in gaining the upper hand in the race. In this race, Liao Qishun started from pole position, Origine Motorsport driver Lu Wei was in another position on the front row, and the drivers on the second row were Cao Qikuan and Lu Zhiwei. For safety reasons, the race will be led by the safety car.

After two laps under the safety car, the race officially began. Liao Qishun quickly opened up the gap with the car behind him. Lu Wei, Cao Qikuan, Lu Zhiwei, Winhere Harmony Racing team Liu Hangcheng, Gu Meng all passed the first corner smoothly, while Chen Fangping, who started with rain tires, could not play his speed on the increasingly dry track and was overtaken by Xu Zefeng, UNO Racing Team driver Pan Junlin, and Lin Yu. After one lap, Chen Fangping was attacked by Chen Yeshong of UNO Racing Team and Ou Ziyang of Team DIXCEL by Harmony Racing. Ou Ziyang and Chen Yeshong both improved their rankings, but Chen Fangping made a mistake and lost further rankings.

Liao Qishun continued to refresh the fastest time on the field to establish an advantage. Lv Wei and Cao Qikuan were also firmly in second and third place. Gu Meng surpassed Lu Zhiwei and moved up to fourth place. Then Pan Junlin, Xu Zefeng and Lin Yu successively surpassed Lu Zhiwei. Liu Hangcheng, who also used rain tires, also fell out of the leading group.

The race came to the 7th lap, and a car fell into the gravel buffer zone at the last corner. The safety car was deployed and the car field was compressed again. After the accident cleanup work was completed, the race resumed on the 9th lap, and the forced pit stop window was opened. The cars returned to the maintenance area one after another to complete the pit stop operation.

The different timings of pit stops for each team allowed Pan Junlin to gradually rise to the leading position, and he became the last driver to enter the pit area. Unfortunately, due to the damage to the front of the car in the previous fight, the No. 85 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II with the "EVISU" exclusive paint was unfortunately eliminated due to damage to the radiator, and Wang Yibo, who was ready to go, had to end the race early.

As all the cars completed the mandatory pit stop, Shen Jian took over from Cao Qikuan and came to the lead of the race, but he will have to face the pursuit of many professional players behind him. The excellent pit stop strategy allowed Erik Johansson, who replaced Lin Yu, to jump to second place. He quickly approached Shen Jian and took the position, and began to lead the race. RIO, who replaced Chen Yechong, and Yu Kuai, who replaced Liao Qishun, both moved forward, surpassing Min Heng and Shen Jian, who replaced Gu Meng, and came to the second and third place of the race. Shen Jian, Min Heng, Cui Yue, who replaced Xu Zefeng, and Xie Xinzhe, who took over from Lv Wei, formed the second group and started a fierce competition for the fourth place.

As the race was about to enter the last 10 minutes, Yu Kuai began to launch a fierce attack on RIO, who blocked the route at the T14 hairpin and held his position. The two drivers' confrontation lasted for many laps, and Yu Kuai's overwhelming offensive was resolved by RIO's airtight defense until the third to last lap, when Yu Kuai finally found an opportunity to break through the gate guarded by RIO again at T14.

The top three positions were decided. In the end, Erik Johansson took the lead with a 7-second advantage and was the first to greet the waving checkered flag. Yu Kuai and RIO crossed the finish line in second and third place. Cui Yue broke through the entanglement of the rear battle group and ranked fourth. Lv Wei ranked fifth. Li Hanyu, who took over from Ou Ziyang, chased to the sixth place. Yang Xiaowei, Zhang Yaqi and Ugo De Wilde of FIST Team AAI continued the battle until the last moment. Yang Xiaowei won the seventh place, Zhang Yaqi crossed the finish line 0.255 seconds behind and eighth. Ugo De Wilde ranked ninth with a difference of 0.025 millimeters. Min Heng crossed the finish line in tenth place.

However, the post-race penalties once again affected the situation of the game. Several teams including Chen Yechong/RIO and Li Hanyu/Ou Ziyang received tickets after the game. According to the official results, Lin Yu/Erik Johansson, Yu Kuai/Liao Qishun, Xu Zefeng/Cui Yue, Lv Wei/Xie Xinzhe, Pan Deng/Yang Xiaowei, Zhang Yaqi/Lu Zhiwei, Chen Yinyu/Ugo De Wilde, Chen Yechong/RIO, Gu Meng/Min Heng, and Hehehe Racing by 33R HAR Zhou Tianji/Wang Zhongwei ranked in the top ten of this round.

GTS Group Moritz Berrenberg/Finn Zulauf won the GTS group again with absolute dominance, Chen Sitong/Yu Tong won the second place in the GTS group for two consecutive rounds, and Gaha Harmony Racing Team Wang Yongjie/Wu Shiyao took the stage again and won the third place in the GTS group. RSR GT Racing team Han Liqun/Tian Weiyuan, despite the damage to their cars caused by the collision, both drivers still insisted on the race and won the fourth place in the GTS category. Incipient Racing team Wu Zhenlong/Xiao Min finished fifth in the GTS category.

610Racing team Bian Ye once again contributed outstanding performance, winning the GTC category for two consecutive races. Yinqiao ACM by Blackjack team Zhang Hongyu/Li Sicheng once led the GTC group, but under the influence of the safety car, the team was overtaken by Bian Ye after the pit stop. Zhang Hongyu/Li Sicheng encountered a thrilling moment and lost time during the chase, but fortunately they were still able to keep the second place in the group, blocking another driver Bao Tian of the 610Racing team behind them.

Thus, the 2025 China GT Shanghai Opening Race has come to an end. The next race will continue on the Shanghai F1 track from May 16th to 18th. We look forward to all the contestants presenting us with exciting duels again.
