Harmony Racing won the podium in the home race and completed the 2025 China GT pre-season warm-up
News & Announcements Ningbo International Circuit March 31
From March 28th to 29th, the official pre-season warm-up of the 2025 China GT China Supercar Championship kicked off at Ningbo International Circuit. Harmony Racing sent two cars to compete in the double-class events during the weekend schedule, and finally stepped onto the podium at the team's home court!
The newly launched China GT provided three official practice sessions, two qualifying sessions and a 38-minute + 1-lap race on the first weekend of the 2025 season, and prepared all the contestants for the pre-season warm-up through the actual combat simulation of the official schedule. Harmony Racing used a two-car lineup this weekend, with Li Hanyu and Ou Ziyang driving the No. 328 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO car to participate in the GT3 category, while Wang Yongjie and Luo Kailuo drove the No. 7 BMW M4 GT4 (G82) car to compete in the GTS category.
The entire pre-season warm-up weekend was affected by weather conditions. The low temperature and continuous rainfall posed a great challenge to the drivers. During the three practice sessions on Friday, the four drivers of the two teams of Harmony Racing continued to adapt to the weather and track conditions and accumulate valuable data.
Although Li Hanyu and Ou Ziyang had completed many track day practices with the team before, the two drivers did not have much experience in driving GT3 cars in official competitions. However, they quickly got into the rhythm in the extremely challenging wet practice. The No. 328 Lamborghini not only firmly holds the top spot in the GT3 AM category, but also ranks first in the second practice session in heavy rain. The two drivers completed a total of 60 laps throughout Friday, becoming a veritable "model worker" combination.
Wang Yongjie, who competed with Harmony Racing for the first time, also took advantage of the official practice on Friday to adapt to the BMW M4 GT4 racing car. Under the careful guidance of professional driver teammate Luo Kailuo, he gradually mastered the driving skills of the Ningbo track and continuously broke his personal best. The No. 7 car completed a total of 56 laps on Friday and achieved the fastest time of 2:05.553.
On Saturday, the two teams took the lead in the qualifying competition. The two drivers in the team needed to take turns to complete two 15-minute sprints, and the starting order for the afternoon race was determined by the comprehensive results. Ou Ziyang and Li Hanyu of the No. 328 team took turns to make their personal bests of 1:50.776 and 1:45.004 respectively, and won the first row of the race with the second place in the total score. Wang Yongjie and Luo Kailuo also ran good lap times in the two qualifying sessions, winning the sixth place and the pole position in the GTS group.
As the afternoon highlights approached, rain returned to the Ningbo track before the start of the 38-minute + 1-lap race, and the track once again became wet. To ensure safety, the race chose to start under the leadership of the safety car.
After the race started, the extremely slippery track and the water mist raised by the car in front undoubtedly brought great challenges to Ou Ziyang, who was driving a GT3 car for the first time. After completing the defense of the driver behind him, the No. 328 car he was driving accidentally skidded in the heavy braking area of Turn 9 and got stuck in the gravel area and could not get out. It was very regrettable that the race ended early.
The No. 7 BMW M4 GT4 car remained stable under the driving of Wang Yongjie, avoiding unnecessary fights with cars from different groups and firmly controlling the rhythm of the race. Halfway through the race, Luo Kailuo took over from Wang Yongjie and entered the car. After another track accident, the safety car was deployed again. The BMW car driven by Luo Kailuo was able to catch up with the GT3 car in front, and got the opportunity to improve the ranking again.
In the final sprint, Luo Kailuo used his driving experience in the rain to keep advancing and successfully surpassed the GT3 car of a higher group. In the end, he welcomed the checkered flag with a third place in the whole field, helping the team to stand on the podium at home and win the GTS category championship!
Harmony Racing once again won the podium in the first home race weekend of this season, and the four drivers also warmed up for the upcoming new season by training through racing! Let us look forward to the Harmony Warriors' wonderful performance in this year's China GT event!
