33R Harmony Racing wins the overall championship of Sepang 12 Hours
News & Announcements Malaysia Sepang International Circuit March 17
On March 15, the 2025 Sepang 12 Hours Endurance Race came to a successful conclusion at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. With the joint efforts of four drivers, Chen Wei'an, Luo Kailuo, Jazeman Jaafar and Jason Loh, 33R Harmony Racing drove the "Garfield" to the top and won the overall championship of this year's Sepang 12 Hours Endurance Race!
In clear weather, the 12-hour race officially started at 10:15 am on Saturday, and the No. 33 Ferrari 296 GT3 car started from pole position. Despite the favorable starting position, the hot weather in Malaysia will put a huge test on the drivers' physical distribution throughout the race, and the weather changes in the past few days will also be the key to the race.
As the key force of the team, the Malaysian professional driver Jazeman Jaafar, who played at home, showed the kingly style that had topped the international arena in the first leg of the race. Although he was challenged by many cars at the start, he quickly took the lead with precise line tracking, and completed excellent tire management in the second half of the first stage, gradually widening the second gap with his opponents to nearly 30 seconds, and establishing a first-mover advantage for the team with a nearly perfect long-distance rhythm.
Luo Kailuo continued the excellent rhythm of the "Garfield" in the next stage. Although the car behind him replaced the professional driver in this stage, he still maintained the lead in the 30-lap stage with an average lap speed of 2:07.962, and did not let the competitors narrow the gap.
The third baton was handed to gentleman driver Jason Loh during the high temperature of noon. Facing the harsh environment with air temperature as high as 35℃, he successfully controlled tire wear with a conservative driving strategy. In the later stage of the stage, his single lap speed was on par with that of high-level drivers, showing his excellent adaptability.
Team Director Chen Wei'an completed the 1-hour race steadily in the next round and continued to lead. Jason Loh then came on stage again to meet the driving time limit. Although he accidentally slipped during the stage and dropped to third place, he quickly adjusted his rhythm, returned to the track, and steadily completed 30 laps of driving time.
In the evening, Luo Kailuo appeared again. With the help of the fierce fight between the two cars in front and the continuous improvement of the average lap speed in the clean space, he narrowed the gap with the first two drivers from 45 seconds to less than 20 seconds. Chen Wei'an then took over and returned to the No. 33 car. The team director continued the driving style of protecting the tires well, laying the groundwork for the "Garfield" to counterattack in the final stage.
Into the night, the No. 33 Prancing Horse car and another Porsche racing car formed a championship group. Jazeman Jaafar took the upper hand in the head-to-head confrontation with the professional drivers of the opponent's car group, successfully completed the overtaking and helped "Garfield" return to the top of the field. Luo Kailuo was fiercely defended by the opponent's team in his third stage, but he still maintained a similar track position after the pit stop. Luo Kailuo fought back with the same attitude, preventing his plan to narrow the second gap with the speed advantage of the new tires.
The heavy responsibility of the final stage of the race was handed over to Jazeman Jaafar. He pushed forward in the last 2 hours of the night and made the fastest lap of the team 2:05.915. Although the rear team tried to gain track position advantage by changing the strategy without changing tires, Jaafar, who was in a hot state, quickly eliminated the 25-second gap with an advantage of more than 2 seconds per lap, and completed the key overtaking by crossing the line at Turns 1-2, officially establishing the lead.
Finally, Jazeman Jaafar drove the No. 33 car to the first place to welcome the checkered flag. The "Garfield" ranked first with 328 laps and a total mileage of 1,818 kilometers! Chen Wei'an, Luo Kailuo, Jazeman Jaafar, and Jason Loh climbed onto the championship podium of the 2025 Sepang 12 Hours Endurance Race with their unremitting efforts throughout the race!
This victory is not only another glorious achievement for Harmony Racing, but also continues the legendary story of Ferrari racing at the Sepang Circuit. 328 laps refreshed the mileage record of the Sepang 12 Hours Endurance Race, and the record holder is Ferrari's previous generation GT3 model. In 2014, the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 won the championship here. After 11 years, the Ferrari 296 GT3 won its first major endurance race in the Asia-Pacific region, marking a new milestone for the new generation of the Prancing Horse in the endurance race!
The 12-hour battle is the ultimate game of technology, strategy and will. 33R Harmony Racing wrote a shocking opening for the 2025 season with impeccable teamwork and heroism of turning the tables in adversity. Sepang Circuit is not only a battlefield of speed, but also a holy place of inheritance. In the future, this champion team will continue to write legends. Let us look forward to 33R and Harmony Racing joining hands to step onto the next racetrack!
