Harmony Racing GTWC Asia Cup Buriram aims for great results
News & Announcements Thailand Chang International Circuit May 28
From May 30 to June 1, the third round of the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia Cup will kick off at the Buriram Circuit in Thailand. Winhere Harmony Racing will continue to use two Ferrari 296 GT3 cars to meet the test of this top sports car event in Asia Pacific. In this race, the team will send a new lineup consisting of Deng Yi, Luo Kailuo, Liu Hangcheng and Elias Seppänen to hit the top of the podium!
Thailand Buriram International Circuit is located in Buriram Province. The track is 4.554 kilometers long and has a total of 12 corners. The track has significant high-speed track characteristics. Three long straights are also important features of this track. Accurately grasping the rhythm of cornering before the straight and obtaining a good cornering speed will be the key factors for running a competitive single lap time.
As the only track in Thailand with FIA Level 1 and FIM A certification, Buriram Circuit has hosted a number of high-level racing series since its official opening in 2014, including the TSS Thailand Super Series, Asian Le Mans Series, Super GT and other events. Buriram has also been an important part of the GT World Challenge Asia Cup schedule in recent years.
Looking back at the Mandalika race in Indonesia in early May, Shengdi-Harmony Racing made an important breakthrough in the first round of the race. Chen Wei'an and Deng Yi of the No. 96 team won the Silver Cup category and won the first victory of the season for the team. Unfortunately, the team was involved in an accident at the last moment of the second round on Sunday and missed the opportunity to win consecutive victories. However, thanks to the steady performance of the two drivers, they were able to finish on the podium in the end. Currently, the No. 96 team has a total of 73 points and is temporarily ranked second in the Silver Cup category standings.
For the No. 55 car, Liu Hangcheng and Lorenzo Patrese showed excellent competitiveness in the qualifying stage. Patrese even made it to the front row in the second qualifying round, winning the Silver-Am pole position for the team. However, a tire blowout in the middle of the first round and an accident at the start of the second round resulted in the No. 55 car failing to challenge for the podium. Currently, the No. 55 car has 20 points and ranks 12th in the group standings.
In this round of events, Shengdi-Harmony Racing will update the driver lineup to attack the Buriram battle with a new lineup. The driver of the No. 96 car, Chen Wei'an, will focus on the position of team director this weekend, and the driver seat will be taken over by the long-term partner of Harmony Racing, Luo Kailuo. Returning to the GT World Challenge Asia Cup, Luo Kailuo and Deng Yi will co-drive the No. 96 Prancing Horse car and continue to participate in the fiercely competitive Silver Cup category.
In addition, the team will also welcome a new member this weekend, Elias from Finland Seppänen will join the No. 55 car and compete in the Silver-Am category with Liu Hangcheng. This professional driver has extensive experience in European competitions. He has won the All-German Automobile Club GT Masters twice. He has also shown extremely strong single lap and race speeds in many events such as the Asian Le Mans Series and the China GT China Supercar Championship. The addition of this powerful driver will inject strong momentum into the team's pursuit of excellence!
The third round of the GT World Challenge Asia Cup is about to begin. The Harmony Racing Team will face the last challenge of the 2025 "Southeast Asian Triple Race" with a new lineup. The team members will also fully prepare the two Prancing Horse cars to help the two teams compete with a number of strong teams! Let us wait and see the heroic appearance of the Prancing Horse team on the field this weekend!
