Prime Racing successfully completed its first ever Japanese Super Endurance Race
News & Announcements Japan Suzuka Circuit May 6
On April 27, the Japanese Super Taikyu Series kicked off the second race of the 2025 season, the Suzuka 5 Hours Endurance Race, at the famous Japanese F1 track, the Suzuka Circuit. With the joint efforts of four Chinese drivers, Han Lichao, Wang Hao, Shi Wei (Tiedou), and Deng Yi, Prime Racing, the official partner team of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China, successfully achieved the 18th place in the whole field and the 10th place in the group, successfully completing the team's first journey in the Japanese Super Taikyu Series. It is worth mentioning that this team's participation is the first team composed of all Chinese members since the establishment of the Japanese Super Taikyu Series and has successfully completed the race, which has attracted great attention from the Japanese racing community and Japanese fans.
As Prime Racing's first overseas event, the team used the GR SUPRA GT4 EVO car to participate in the ST-Z category (GT4 specification). Although this category is not the highest category in the competition, it gathers many Japanese top Super GT champions and manufacturer-signed drivers such as Yusuke Kunimoto, Tsuyoshi Matsuda, and Katsuyuki Hiranaka. After more than 30 years of development, the Japanese Super Endurance Series has formed its own system specifications, from competition rules, car BOP to racing tools. This is a good opportunity for the four Chinese drivers and the whole team who challenged the Suzuka Circuit for the first time to compete with world-class drivers and exchange and learn.
Suzuka Circuit is recognized by many drivers as one of the most difficult tracks in Asia. It is 5.807km long and is known for its high temperature, many bends and high load. It is not easy to compete for the top position. Considering that the Suzuka Circuit combines extremely challenging high-speed continuous bends, straight-line acceleration sections and altitude changes, the team has formulated a series of preparation plans before the official start of the competition. The drivers practice driving on the simulator and conduct pre-race foot surveys to familiarize themselves with the details of the track in advance. The engineering team tunes and prepares the car to ensure that it maintains stable performance during the endurance challenge.
