Asian Le Mans | The first season has come to an end. Pole Racing learns and summarizes the experience of the competition

News & Announcements Yas Marina Circuit February 17

On February 16, the last round of the 2024-2025 Asian Le Mans Series was held at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Climax Racing's No. 2 car started from pole position in the GT category and was once in the lead, but due to a pit stop penalty during the race, it finished 12th in the group, completing the team's first season in the world's top endurance race.

After the regrettable first round, the team conducted a comprehensive analysis and discussion on the problems encountered, tried to make corresponding changes, and strived to convert the pole position into good results in the second round.

Zhou Bihuang, driving the No. 2 car, performed well at the start of the race and avoided a large number of track accidents, but the track accident behind him once again caused damage to the track guardrail, and the race committee showed a red flag for repair work.

After half an hour of repairs, the race resumed and the race time was reset. Zhou Bihuang performed equally well when the safety car withdrew, continued to maintain the leading position, and started his own long-distance driving rhythm in the race. At the same time, the team also pitted to refuel under the yellow flag throughout the race according to the track conditions and the opponent's choice, extending the driving time of a single section.

After that, the team chose to pit under the virtual safety car, and Ralf Aron entered the car to start the next driving job. The AMG official driver entered the melee of the midfield group after leaving the pit, trying to break through the multiple cars in front. After 29 laps of driving, he handed the car to Elias Seppanen for the final sprint, but due to workflow problems during the previous pit stop, an additional 10 seconds of pit stop time was required.

Elias sprinted at full speed in the final stage, keeping the long-distance single-lap time within the range of 1:55, and continued to approach the car in front. However, the No. 2 car needed to refuel briefly in the final stage to complete the race, and finally crossed the finish line in 12th place in the GT category.

Thus, Climax Racing has completed the journey of the new season of the Asian Le Mans Series. The No. 2 car has won a total of 26 points and ranked 12th in the year; the No. 14 car also scored points and ranked 20th in the GT category. The team will summarize the experience of the first season of the Asian Le Mans and aim to achieve better results in future competitions.
