New Beijing Street Circuit To Host 2025 GT World Challenge Asia Finale

The SRO Motorsports Group has announced that the brand-new Beijing Street Circuit will host the GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS season finale in 2025, completing the series' calendar for the year.
A provisional 2025 schedule was initially revealed in late June, with China listed as the finale's destination. Now, the full list of venues is finalized with the addition of the new destination on October 17-19. This will mark the first time that GT World Challenge Asia will host a race meeting at a street circuit.
The 4.9-kilometre-long, eight-turn track utilizes public roads, winding its way between modern architecture and the Tongming Lake Park in Beijing’s Economic-Technological Development Area, known as E-Town. Existing structures will also be used to provide state-of-the-art facilities for teams, officials, and media.
The circuit has been designed by Apex Circuit Design, a motorsport consultant that has managed and delivered several similar projects across China, Asia, and beyond, including the Miami Grand Prix venue, over the last two decades.
Safety has been a central focus of the Beijing Street Circuit’s design process. Several run-off areas in key locations will allow drivers of all abilities to push their limits, while the track itself is significantly larger at its narrowest and widest sections than regional contemporaries in Singapore and Baku.
The project was unveiled today at the Beijing Smart Esports Event Center. GT World Challenge Asia general manager Benjamin Franassovici joined Beijing Street Circuit’s founder, Zou Sirui, on stage.
This is not the first time an SRO-organized championship has raced on China’s streets: Zhuhai’s public roads hosted the BPR Global GT Series in 1994 and 1995 before switching to the city’s then-new purpose-built circuit. The FIA GT1 World Championship also held a demonstration outside the Bird’s Nest Olympic Stadium in 2011.
However, the Beijing Street Circuit will become the first street circuit to host GT World Challenge Asia since the championship’s establishment in 2017.
“SRO pioneered the use of street circuits in China, so it is fitting that GT World Challenge Asia’s first such event should take place in the same country,” said Stéphane Ratel, the SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO. “Beijing E-Town and the Beijing Street Circuit promise to provide a spectacular setting for GT3 racing, not just in China and Asia but globally as well. I would like to thank the event’s founder, Zou Sirui, without whom this project would not be possible, and Apex Circuit Design for creating what I am sure will become a reference point for street circuits around the world.”
GT World Challenge Asia’s 12-round 2025 campaign begins at Sepang on April 11-13 before visiting Mandalika in Indonesia for the first time. Further events at Chang, Fuji, and Okayama will follow before the season finale in Beijing.
