2025 China Endurance Championship (CEC) Technical Regulations 2.0T Group V2

News & Announcements China May 16

This document is "2025 CEC China Endurance Championship Technical Rules 2.0T Group V2", which mainly provides detailed regulations on the definition, registration, vehicle requirements, modification restrictions, weight, safety, system structure and technical parameters of the manufacturer cup 2.0T group participating vehicles. The following is sorted out from the aspects of vehicle basic requirements, modification rules, safety specifications, technical parameters of each system, weight and size restrictions, etc.:

1. Basic vehicle requirements

  1. Model definition
  • The prototype vehicle must be a mass-produced passenger car with a production of more than 2,500 vehicles in 12 consecutive months.
  • Prohibited participating models: Formula, non-hardtop vehicles, assembled steel frame vehicles, central steering wheel vehicles (unless approved by the organizing committee).
  1. Basic structure
  • It must be equipped with at least a driver's door and a co-pilot's door, four-wheel steering (front-wheel steering), and only a single internal combustion engine power unit is allowed.
  • The data acquisition system specified by the organizing committee must be installed and comply with the "2018 Domestic Automobile Competition Mass Production Vehicle Safety Modification Rules".

2. Modification rules

  1. General principles
  • All modifications not explicitly permitted are prohibited, and permitted modifications shall not lead to unauthorized modifications.
  • Bolts, nuts, etc. can be replaced with parts of the same material, diameter and thread, and locking devices can be added.
  1. Restrictions on modification of key components
  • Engine assembly: It is allowed to replace the commercially available assembly, but the air restrictor required by the group must be used, and the original vehicle firewall must not be changed.
  • Transmission: Sequential transmissions are allowed, and simulated sequential gearshift mechanisms are considered sequential; a maximum of 6 forward gears (except for the original transmission), and a reverse gear must be provided.
  • Body appearance: Surroundings, rear wings, etc. can be installed, but the maximum width of the vehicle body is ≤1950mm, the height of the rear wing must not exceed the roof, and the rear end must not exceed the rear bumper.
  • Wheels and tires: The wheels must be a metal monolithic structure, with a maximum of 18 inches × 11J, and a single weight ≥11kg; it is prohibited to carry spare tires and use tire pressure regulation systems.

III. Safety Specifications

  1. Core Safety Devices
  • Roll Cage: Must comply with the "Safety Modification Rules for Mass-produced Vehicles in Domestic Automobile Competitions in 2018", and the steel pipe within 50cm around the driver's head must be wrapped with a protective cover.
  • Seats and Seat Belts: Must be replaced with FIA registered seats (FIA 8855-1999 or 8862-2009 standards), seat belts must comply with FIA 8853-2016, and equipped with 5-point seat belts.
  • Fire Extinguisher System: Must be installed with fire extinguishing systems in FIA Technical List N°16, N°52, and N°97.
  1. Other Safety Requirements
  • Two safety locks must be installed in the engine compartment and luggage compartment, and the original lock system must be removed or invalid.
  • The protective net must be made of non-combustible material, fixed to the roll cage, and have a one-handed quick release function.

4. Technical parameters of each system

  1. Engine
  • Displacement and intake: Working volume ≤2000cc, must be supercharged, number of cylinders ≤4, turbine pressure ≤3.5bar absolute value.
  • Cooling system: Radiator must be installed in place, expansion tank (volume ≤2L) is allowed, and heater device must be removed.
  • Fuel system: Air restrictor must be installed (located in front of turbine air inlet), number and position of fuel injectors must be consistent with the original factory.
  1. Transmission system
  • Clutch: Number of friction plates ≤2, outer diameter ≥183mm, carbon material prohibited.
  • Differential: Only mechanical differential is allowed, radiator can be installed.
  1. Suspension and brake
  • Suspension system: The original subframe must be used, wheelbase ±10mm, anti-roll bar modification is allowed (purely mechanical form, cannot be adjusted in the cab).
  • Brake system: Brake calipers and discs are not limited, the ABS system needs to be removed, and the front and rear brake pressure distribution brackets are allowed to be installed.

5. Weight and size restrictions

  1. Minimum vehicle weight
  • Front-wheel drive vehicles: 1050 kg (1080 kg for sequential gearboxes).
  • Rear-wheel drive vehicles: 1080 kg (1110 kg for sequential gearboxes).
  • The minimum weight can be achieved through a counterweight box, the counterweight must be firmly fixed, and the lead seal can be observed during the vehicle inspection.
  1. Ground clearance: When there is no driver and the tire pressure is 1.6 bar, the chassis components are ≥70 mm above the ground.

6. Other rules

  1. Electronic system: The wiring harness must be flame retardant, the battery installation must be leak-proof and securely fixed, and charging devices other than the engine are prohibited.
  2. Fuel supply system: An FIA-approved fuel tank (FT3 1999/FT3.5/FT5) must be used, installed in the area from the B-pillar of the roll cage to the front of the rear wheel centerline, equipped with a leak-proof quick refueling interface.
  3. Data and communication: Remote control data transmission is prohibited (except for team and driver radio communication), and on-board data recording system is allowed.
