GYT Racing won the third place in the 2025 CEC Ningbo Station

In this scorching July, the CEC R2 Ningbo Station kicked off at the Ningbo International Circuit from July 4th to 6th!

As a local team in Ningbo, Jinyutu Racing is at home, sending the No. 87 car driven by drivers Zhang Youlin and Yuan Runqi and the No. 97 car driven by drivers Ye Lu, Xie Kai and Song Cong to compete in the 1600 group event!

In the qualifying round, the drivers have shown their outstanding strength and fighting spirit, and are fully prepared for the fierce competition in the race. On Saturday, the high temperature became another strong "opponent" for the drivers. The temperature was 32 degrees Celsius, and the track temperature soared. At 8:40 in the morning, the maintenance area opened, and the drivers quickly entered the preparation state, ready to go, just waiting for the race whistle to rush to the track!

Car No. 97: Turning against the wind and winning the third place

The journey of Car No. 97 is amazing! The first driver, Ningbo local driver Ye Lu, relied on his extreme familiarity with the track and superb driving skills to overtake all the way from the last place in the field and came to the 13th place in the field and the third place in the 1600 group.

Only about 30 minutes after the start of the race, driver Ye Lu drove the car to the top of the 1600 group and the seventh place in the field! As other teams returned to the maintenance area to change drivers, driver Ye Lu chose to stay on the track to gain greater advantages for his teammates and constantly refresh their positions.

Second driver Xie Kai, as a veteran of Jinyutu Racing, has not touched the car for a while, but after returning to the track, he took over the baton steadily with his familiarity with the car and the track. Although the No. 97 car slightly dropped in position after taking over, it still firmly held the third place in the 1600 group.

With about 30 minutes left in the race, facing the strong pursuit of the No. 87 car of the same team, although it was regrettable to withdraw from the podium position and come fourth in the group, the driver Xie Kai still maintained steady driving, strictly guarding against the car behind, and seizing the advantage for the team.

In the end, the No. 97 car crossed the finish line with an excellent result of seventh in the whole field and third in the 1600 group, winning glory for the team!

Car No. 87: Although there are regrets, there is hope on Sunday

Car No. 87 also has a wonderful performance! The first driver Zhang Youlin started from the eleventh place. In the fierce competition, he lost a little position after the start. But he always maintained stable driving. He handed the car to his teammates smoothly.

The second driver Yuan Runqi, only 17 years old, participated in the CEC for the first time, but showed strong strength and became a new force on the field. With thirty minutes left in the race, Yuan Runqi closed the gap with the car in front with the help of the safety car procedure. He found the right time and gradually exerted his strength to chase the car in front. Just a few minutes after the safety car returned, he drove the car to the seventh place in the whole field and the third place in the 1600 group!

However, two minutes before the end of the race, driver Yuan Runqi suffered from heatstroke due to long-term fighting in a high temperature environment and had to rush back to the maintenance area. Teammate Zhang Youlin responded immediately and quickly changed the car. In the end, the No. 87 car finished the first round of the race with the ninth place in the whole field. Although it was a pity that he failed to reach the podium in the first round, the hard work and efforts of the drivers laid a solid foundation for the second round final on Sunday!
