News & Announcements China March 17

As the registration is in full swing, the major teams are also preparing for the 2025 CTCC season. The rules and changes of the new season CTCC are the focus of all participating members and fans. This year, CTCC has also absorbed the experience of previous years and combined with the development trend of Chinese racing today. It has comprehensively upgraded the two major venues of TCR China Series and China Cup, striving to lead Chinese professional racing to a higher level.

In 2025, the time-honored China Cup will return with a new competition system that is more in line with the development trend of the industry to inherit the glory of Chinese racing. The China Cup will continue to use the "55 minutes + 1 lap" long-distance sprint race format in the 2025 season. While continuing the hot scene of local clubs actively participating in the competition, it will also welcome the participation of many automobile manufacturers to show the new era of China's racing industry.

In order to improve the competitive level of the event, promote the progress of China's local racing research and development capabilities, and enable the majority of drivers to enjoy the hot competition atmosphere while effectively improving their personal skills, **the 2025 China Cup has set up more scientific groupings for both racing and driver groups,**creating a new competition experience.

01
New racing grouping is enabled
Different levels of racing cars share the national professional platform

The new season of the China Cup has set up a new grouping for participating cars, which not only provides an entry point for entry-level racing, but also sets up a stage to meet international standards. The new grouping system establishes rules for dynamically adjusting groups, creating a platform for China's local racing industry to showcase its R&D strength and forming a hierarchical grouping system. In addition, CTCC will also plan to add hybrid groups and new energy groups based on the development and changes of the automotive industry, so that all drivers and clubs with different racing cars, as well as manufacturers, brands and clubs that bravely explore new automotive technologies, can share the excitement of the national professional competition platform.

The new racing car groups for the 2025 China Cup are as follows:

TCR Group: The TCR racing stage that is in line with the international standards
Group definition: All models listed in the TCR registered car list released by WSC, and holding a valid vehicle registration form and corresponding QR code issued by the TCR technical department that match their frame numbers.

TCS Group: The arena that reflects China's strongest local modification - 2.0T and above displacement racing cars
Group definition: Racing cars with a displacement of 2.0T or above, and a modification degree and performance similar to TCR racing cars

TC-1 Group: Professional modification competition
Group definition: Racing car displacement is 1.5T~2.0T, professional modification

TC-2 Group: Drivers' advanced platform
Group definition: Basic modification of racing car displacement of 2.0T or moderate modification of racing car displacement of 1.6T and below

TC-3 Group: Beginner's choice for racing car
Group definition: Basic modification of racing car displacement of 1.6T and below

*Note: The registered vehicle may be dynamically adjusted in the season due to its performance performance.

02
Introducing driver rating to help drivers advance

The number of drivers participating in the China Cup has seen explosive growth in recent years. CTCC has also introduced the CTCC driver rating mechanism for the China Cup this season, dividing drivers into two categories: "professional group" and "challenge group".

The addition of drivers in the professional group will improve the competition level, while the challenge group provides a competitive platform for drivers to improve their driving skills. At the same time, the new rules stipulate that each car group can only register one professional group driver. This setting can avoid the "arms race" of the contestants, make the strength of the participating car groups more balanced, make the competition more entertaining, and attract drivers of different levels to participate in the competition. During the competition, the challenge group drivers can quickly learn effective practical experience from the professional drivers, and the professional drivers can also help the challenge group drivers to advance.

03
Add "Best Driver of the Year" award

The China Cup is one of the oldest local track racing IPs in China, and countless drivers dream of winning the China Cup annual championship. In the 2025 season, in response to the rich grouping under the new rules, the China Cup will add the "Best Driver of the Year" award, which will be awarded to the driver with the highest CTCC driver rating points at the end of the year among the China Cup participating drivers. Only the best drivers can stand out from more than 100 drivers in the season and reach the top of the China Cup. This will further inspire the fighting spirit of the players and bring more exciting competitions.

TCR China Series has always been the focus of CTCC. CTCC has made many changes to the rules of the new season's TCR China Series from the perspectives of improving communication convenience, event viewing, and competition level.

01
Driver grouping updated, two major groups share honor

In the TCR China Series, scientific and precise grouping strategies have always been the core focus of the event. Through clever grouping arrangements, drivers of different levels can compete on the same field, which not only provides smooth and exciting events for the audience, but also provides a platform for drivers to learn from each other and make continuous progress. At the same time, the event promoter will work with each team to further strengthen the image of the event and the application specifications of the VI system. This will not only help the teams and drivers to shape a professional and unified brand image, but also make the participating members more standardized and professional while competing on the professional stage.

In the TCR China Series, **drivers will be divided into two camps, "Professional Group" and "Challenge Group" according to the CTCC driver rating mechanism. **Drivers in the two groups will compete on the same field in the TCR China Championship and enjoy the fierce and hot competitive atmosphere together. At the same time, **Challenge Group will set up a dedicated points system and award mechanism. **This not only provides a more layered competitive environment for the contestants, but also opens up more possibilities for the drivers to compete for honors, thereby attracting more outstanding drivers to join the top teams and promoting the overall level of the event.

The rule adjustments for the 2025 TCR China Series and China Cup will further stimulate the drivers' competitive enthusiasm, enhance the fairness and professionalism of the event, and create more exciting events for the majority of drivers and fans. At present, the registration process for the new season is in full swing. Please gather with passion and witness the excitement of the new year together with the drivers of the teams who are as ambitious as us to pursue their dreams of racing!
