Geely Super Cup PRO Tianfu Circuit Review
News & Announcements China Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit September 9
From September 5th to 7th, the Geely Super Cup PRO kicked off the second half of the 2025 season in Chengdu, Sichuan. The new three-round competition at the Tianfu International Circuit was filled with excitement and exciting moments. The Geely Super Cup PRO champions are constantly demonstrating their understanding of "speed and glory." After all, the "Ji Speed Feast," now a national A-level professional automobile race, will be the most important step in their racing journey.
Dai Xueliang's two championships and one season mark a historic record for independent drivers
On another unpredictable weekend in Tianfu, the Geely Super Cup PRO "Chengdu Second Round" ignited. Among them, the most dazzling driver was undoubtedly Dai Xueliang (No. 343), competing as an independent. Nicknamed "Akeng," he has not only won numerous championships in karting and regional racing, but has also appeared numerous times in China's top sim racing leagues. In his first foray into the mid- to high-end touring car race, he achieved a remarkable feat of "two championships and one season" with his smooth driving and decisive overtaking. This is also the best result ever achieved by an independent driver since the Geely Super Cup PRO switched to a three-round format.

Dai Xueliang spent the entire weekend embodying the essence of Chengdu's "local boss." In qualifying, hampered by the difficult rainy conditions, he finished only eighth. In the tenth round, he overtook two drivers at the start and decisively passed Team DIXCEL's local driver Chen Pengyuan (No. 328) after the safety car. With seven minutes remaining, the hot-tempered "Akeng" was overtaken by his opponent, Xu Zeyu (#222) of the HiRun Osa Racing Team. He then made a crucial overtake in T16 and ultimately crossed the finish line first. In the eleventh round, Dai Xueliang once again chased from behind, but unfortunately, in the final stages of the race, while battling for the lead with Yang Wenbin (#9) of Hongxin Racing Team and Fu Guxiang (#94) of Jiekai Racing Team (the leader received a 10-second penalty for a false start), a minor error allowed the Jiekai driver to overtake him, dropping him to third place. In the twelfth round of the endurance race, Dai Xueliang, starting from the front row, led the race from the start. Even after a series of attacks from Yang Wenbin in the final stages of the race, he maintained his lead, securing his second win of the weekend.
Dai Xueliang, who nearly achieved a "perfect weekend," credited himself with good luck. He said, "The feng shui of this track favors local drivers. My results were good this weekend, but there were some minor flaws, which showed my lack of experience in high-level racing. It was fun competing against these drivers and I learned a lot. I hope to have the opportunity to compete again in the Geely Super Cup PRO." Another local driver, Chen Pengyuan, also achieved his best performance in the Geely Super Cup PRO, not only taking pole position in qualifying but also finishing third in round 10.
Liu Xiaohua vs. Yang Wenbin: The Battle for the Championship Heightens
With the official release of the annual driver standings during the Chengdu Round 2, the championship race seems to be becoming increasingly clear. Liu Xiaohua (#21) of the Black Mamba Shock Absorber by TRACKFUN Racing Team, who has been steadily scoring points, will face Yang Wenbin of the Hongxin Racing Team, who has shown rapid momentum in the past two races. Currently, the two are six points apart in the annual driver points and only four points apart in the annual team points.
This weekend, the two also engaged in the "first scene of the annual showdown" in the final stages of Round 10. Desperate for victory, Yang Wenbin unfortunately "torpedoed" Liu Xiaohua in the final stages of the race, adding some drama to the battle for both championships. Ultimately, Yang Wenbin was forced to retire and incur an additional penalty (a five-place grid penalty for Round 11), while Liu Xiaohua finished only seventh. Elsewhere over the weekend, the new leader of the "Bauhinia Drivers" race secured one victory and one second place, including a stunning comeback from behind in Round 11 to secure the championship. Meanwhile, Liu Xiaohua remained stuck in the middle of the pack in Rounds 11 and 12, struggling to reach the podium. As one race gained ground, the other lost ground. Yang Wenbin quickly closed in on Liu Xiaohua in both standings.
Yang Wenbin felt he had a great weekend competing. The Hong Kong, China driver said, "I feel like my control of the Binrui COOL sequential car is getting better and better. Despite some setbacks over the weekend, I'm very satisfied, though I did suffer a lot of damage to the car's bodywork. The crash and retirement in the first round served as a reminder to avoid such moments in the upcoming championship battles. I hope to keep up the good work in the next two races and achieve a satisfactory overall result."

Liu Xiaohua hopes to quickly put this race behind him and do his best in the final two races. "My performance in the second round in Chengdu was mediocre, and I'm far behind my competitors in the standings. I've set my sights on the final battle, and 'focusing on myself' will be my primary strategy in my pursuit of the championship."

A fierce battle for third place in the Driver of the Year race – is the "Hall Master" in danger?
The battle for third place in the Driver of the Year race was a chaotic one. The second group, comprised of Zou Yunfeng (No. 14), the leader of the Black Mamba Shock Absorber by TRACKFUN Racing team, Yan Hancheng (No. 63), Fu Guxiang of the Jiekai Racing team, and Zhu Hangxiao (No. 91) of the HiRun Osa Racing team, saw the gap between them as small as 10 points.
Currently, the "Master," whose form has been sluggish in the past two races, has been left significantly behind by the "championship duo." With the rear-end group sprinting, the pre-season favorites are facing a difficult situation. Yan Hancheng, who had won two consecutive endurance relay races in the previous two races, performed poorly in this race, with two mid-pack finishes and one retirement, losing the initiative in the championship race. Fu Guxiang, having secured his first podium since the previous race in Zhuzhou, Hunan, took home one second place, one third place, and one fourth place, earning a significant points haul. Although Zhu Hangxiao missed victory in the tenth round due to a false start, his consistent performance helped him close the gap with the front runners.
As a driver who has been in hot form in the Super Ji League PRO recently, this weekend's birthday rider, Fu Guxiang, also shared his recent thoughts after the race. "Compared to the season opener, the biggest change for me is my significantly improved driving confidence. With the help of everyone at the Jiekai Racing team, I've significantly improved both my lap time and my race pace. More importantly, I've made far fewer unforced errors. With these factors working together, I've naturally started to see results. Consecutive podium finishes have given me the confidence to start dreaming of victory."

After twelve rounds, the 2025 season is two-thirds over. In terms of annual team points, the Black Mamba Shock Absorber by TRACKFUN team maintained its lead with 171 points; Hongxin Team remained firmly in second place with 146 points. Jiekai Team and HiRun Osa Team each surpassed the recently unstable 326 Racing Team with 125 points, securing the top three spots. As the season enters the final two races, the competition for the annual awards is heating up!
From October 17th to 19th, the 2025 Super Geely League PRO will move from Geely Autosports' southwest base to its eastern headquarters, the Ningbo International Circuit. Will someone suddenly surge ahead, pull away from their opponents, and secure a victory? Or will someone make a mistake and completely drop out of contention? The story of the "Purple Racer" will continue in 2025, so stay tuned.
