Luca Rangoni

Luca Rangoni, born on September 23, 1968, in Bologna, Italy, is a seasoned auto racing driver with a diverse career spanning several racing disciplines. Rangoni's journey in motorsports began with four years in karting before transitioning to circuit racing. In 1989, he debuted in the Italian Formula Alfa Boxer Championship, securing a sixth-place finish. He further honed his skills in the Italian F2000 Trophy, clinching the title in 1991. Progressing through the ranks, Rangoni competed in the Italian Formula Three Championship, ultimately claiming the championship title in 1995 driving a Dallara-Fiat. This success propelled him to the FIA International F3000 Championship in 1996, where he secured a commendable sixth-place finish at Pau.

After a hiatus due to a family tragedy, Rangoni returned to racing in 1999, shifting his focus to touring cars. He achieved considerable success in the Renault Sport Clio International Trophy, dominating the competition and securing four consecutive titles from 2000 to 2003. In 2004, he participated in the FIA European Touring Car Championship, driving an Alfa Romeo 156 and finishing 16th overall. Rangoni then joined the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in 2006 with Proteam Motorsport, piloting a BMW 320i. He finished the season 19th overall, earning a podium finish in Valencia. He was also runner-up in the Yokohama Independents Trophy, behind Tom Coronel.

Continuing with Proteam in 2007, Rangoni finished 14th overall. In 2008, he raced in the Italian Porsche Carrera Cup, finishing as runner-up, and also competed in the Superstars Series. More recently, Rangoni has been involved in the Italian GT series, endurance events, the Italian Mini Challenge, and TCR Italy. Beyond racing, Rangoni works as an instructor for CIGS and manages racing teams.
