Climax Racing takes 296 GT3 to China GT

From April 25 to 27, the 2025 China GT Championship will start the first race of the new season at the Shanghai International Circuit. Climax Racing will send a Ferrari 296 GT3 car, with Chen Fangping and Finnish driver Elias Seppanen participating in the Pro-Am category.

This race is the first time that Chen Fangping has driven a Ferrari 296 GT3 car to participate in the competition. Since the end of 2024, he has driven this car for nearly 3,000 kilometers of testing at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia and the Shanghai International Circuit, and has made excellent lap times on both FIA-certified Grade 1 tracks, fully demonstrating his driving talent.

Born in 2003, Finnish driver Elias Seppänen is a rising star in the field of European GT racing. After completing systematic training in the formula system, he officially switched to the GT3 track in 2022 and quickly demonstrated his dominance in top events. In 2023, he drove the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo car to compete in the ADAC GT Masters German GT Masters. With stable performance and strong rhythm control, he won the annual championship in his first full GT3 season, and successfully defended his title in 2024, achieving two consecutive championships and becoming one of the youngest double champions in the history of the series.

In the 2025 season, Elias will make his debut in China's national GT race, representing Climax Racing in the China GT Chinese Supercar Championship, and partnering with Chinese driver Chen Fangping to drive the Ferrari 296 GT3 car in the GT3 category for the entire year. Young but experienced, he aims directly at the podium, striving to win honors for the team on a new platform.

At the same time, this race is also the first time that Climax Racing uses the Ferrari 296 GT3 car to participate in the race. In the previous rounds of testing, the team members have a full understanding of the performance characteristics of this Prancing Horse car. Climax Racing is full of confidence and will continue its past brilliant achievements in the China GT arena with high morale and steady attitude, and continue to write a glorious chapter belonging to the Climax Racing team.

The Ferrari 296 GT3 is a new GT3 model launched by Ferrari in 2022. The vehicle is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine and a six-speed sequential gearbox. Since its release, the Ferrari 296 GT3 has continued to stand out on the global top competition stage with its excellent overall performance, outstanding reliability and high competitive adaptability, and has won a series of impressive results, fully demonstrating Ferrari's unshakable leading position and strong market competitiveness in the field of high-performance racing.

The China GT China Supercar Championship has rekindled the battle after many years. The competition adopts the rules of 55 minutes + 1 lap. Four races will be held in the Shanghai International Circuit, Tianjin V1 Circuit and other tracks throughout the season. As the top GT event in China, the opening game attracted more than 20 GT3 cars to participate in the competition for the highest honor of the national GT event.
