2025 GTWC Asia Cup Climax Racing returns to Sepang
News & Announcements Malaysia Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach April 11
From April 11th to 13th, the opening match of the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia Cup will be held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia! Climax Racing sent two Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo cars to compete in two major categories, consisting of the No. 2 car (Zhou Bihuang/Ralf Aron) and the No. 44 car (Zhang Yaqi/Ling Kang) to form the Pro-Am and Silver-Am double-line ace lineup! The two swords are unsheathed, aiming for honor!
Gentleman driver Zhou Bihuang will compete with Mercedes-AMG official driver Ralf Aron in the year-round event. Zhou Bihuang helped Climax Racing win the first overall championship in team history at the Suzuka station in Japan last season, while Ralf Aron ignited the home field with pole position and a podium finish in the final race in Shanghai! The two had already cooperated well in the Asian Le Mans Series, and they will go all out to achieve good results in the Pro-Am category in the new season.
The "China Power" team Zhang Yaqi and Ling Kang will jointly drive the No. 44 car to challenge the Silver-Am category, and they will also challenge the annual honor of the "China Cup". The two drivers already have rich experience in cooperation. In last year's Shanghai 8-Hour Endurance Race and CEC China Automobile Endurance Championship Zhuhai Station, they helped Climax Racing win the third place and championship results. The performance of the two drivers in jointly challenging the top GT events in Asia is worth looking forward to!
As a classic track in Southeast Asia, the Sepang International Circuit is 5.54 kilometers long. It has two high-speed straight roads and 15 complex and varied corners, which are both technical and challenging. It puts forward high requirements on the performance of the car and the driving skills of the driver. But at the same time, the layout of the Sepang Circuit also provides drivers with more overtaking points, which can be said to be a coexistence of challenges and opportunities.
Since the start of the 2023 season, Climax Racing has accumulated a lot of mileage at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia, and has achieved good performances in various events such as the GTWC Asia Cup, PCCA, and Sepang 12 Hours Endurance Race. In 2023, Climax Racing was crowned the annual champion of the GTWC Asia Cup Am category here. The team also looks forward to using its rich experience to once again achieve good results in this weekend's race!
To welcome the season opener, the team members arrived at the Sepang Circuit in advance to perform maintenance work on the car to ensure that the car is in the best condition for the official race. All members of Climax Racing are in place and ready to go, and we look forward to the four drivers of the two teams giving wonderful performances in the season opener!
