GTWC Asia Origine Motorsport welcomes new challenge at Mandalika

News & Announcements Indonesia Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit May 9

From May 9 to 11, the second stop of the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia Cup (GTWC Asia) will officially kick off at the Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia. Origine Motorsport will continue to send three Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) cars to participate in the competition, aiming to achieve top results in the Pro-Am and Silver-Am categories.

The Mandalika International Circuit, which has just joined the GTWC Asia calendar, is located in the coastal area of Mandalika Resort in Lombok, Indonesia, and will be officially opened in 2021. The track is 4.313 kilometers long and has a total of 17 corners. Since its official opening, the Mandalika Circuit has hosted several world-class racing series, including the MotoGP World Motorcycle Championship and the WSBK Superbike World Championship. This weekend, Mandalika will host the GTWC Asia, a major intercontinental sports car championship, for the first time.

Looking back at the opening race in Sepang, Malaysia in April, Origine Motorsport, which participated in the first race with a three-car lineup, had a good start in the first race of the season. Ye Hongli and Yuan Bo of the No. 87 car team won the first round of the race on Saturday, officially starting their road to defending the title as champions. Li Kerong and Anders, who made their debut in the top GT event in Asia Pacific, Fjordbach persevered despite the accident in the first lap and finished seventh in the Silver-Am category.

In the second round of the race on Sunday, the No. 4 car shared by Lv Wei and Bastian Buus showed great potential. After a time penalty, it fought back strongly and ranked among the top ten. Yuan Bo and Ye Hongli won another victory in a race full of accidents and won the third place in the Pro-Am category. Li Kerong and Anders Fjordbach of the No. 86 car group performed steadily and finished seventh in the group again.

Entering the Mandalika race weekend, the team's "ace combination" Ye Hongli and Yuan Bo will once again challenge the championship podium with all their strength. After two rounds of fierce competition in Sepang, Yuan Bo and Ye Hongli won one championship and one season with their excellent competitive level, and are currently ranked second in the annual points list. The two powerful drivers will continue to meet the challenges of the Pro-Am category again this weekend with a forge ahead attitude.

The No. 4 car will welcome a new member at the Mandalika station. Alessio Picariello, a powerful driver from Belgium, will join the team and participate in the Pro-Am category with Lu Wei. This professional driver, known as the "Belgian Bullet" for his strong speed, has been active in many top sports car events in recent years and has driving experience in multiple levels of racing cars such as Hypercar, GTE, and GT3. This weekend, Alessio will serve as the main member of the No. 4 car group and fully assist Lu Wei to hit the podium.

Li Kerong and Anders Fjordbach, who are new to GTWC Asia, will continue to work together to helm the No. 86 car and compete in the Silver-Am category. In the fiercely competitive Sepang station, Li Kerong and Anders Fjordbach moved forward steadily and brought back important points. During the off-season, the two drivers actively reviewed the race and used the simulator to familiarize themselves with the track, aiming to go one step further in Mandalika and compete for the podium in the group.

GTWC Asia Indonesia Mandalika Station is about to kick off, and all members of Origine Motorsport will fight hard, strive for the top, and aim for the championship! Let us look forward to the wonderful performances of the six Force warriors, Ye Hongli, Yuan Bo, Lv Wei, Alessio Picariello, Li Kerong, and Anders Fjordbach!
