Uno Racing Team goes all out for the 2025 GTWC Asia first race in Japan
News & Announcements Japan Fuji International Speedway Circuit July 11
From July 11 to 13, the GT World Challenge Asia Cup (GTWC Asia) will once again set off a storm of speed after a month, and will usher in the fourth round of the season at Fuji Speedway in Japan. Uno Racing Team's powerful drivers Rio and Shaun Thong will reunite and drive the No. 16 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II car to participate in the hot showdown between the Silver Cup category and the "China Cup".
This station is the beginning of the second half of the 2025 Asia-Pacific GT event, and it is also the first stop of this year's SRO GT PowerTour. GTWC Asia and the "Japan Cup" competing in the same venue gathered at Fuji Speedway, and a total of 56 GT cars will compete in this weekend's racing feast. With the strong support of the team's year-round partner, the well-known Japanese brake brand ENDLESS, Uno Racing Team will strive for good results in the battle in Japan.
The Fuji Speedway, built in the 1960s, is a well-known landmark for racing in Japan. It has hosted major events such as the F1 World Championship, the WEC World Endurance Championship, and the Super GT. The track is 4.563 kilometers long per lap and includes 16 corners. The continuous medium and high-speed combination corners test the car's tuning and driver skills. The 1.475-kilometer main straight allows the GT car's powerful power to be fully released. Since the event was founded in 2017, GTWC Asia has set the Fuji Speedway as a regular sub-station venue, and countless classic battles have been staged at the foot of Mount Fuji.
Looking back at the last stop in Buriram, Thailand, Uno Racing Team rebounded strongly after the low point of retiring in the first round on Saturday, and staged a wonderful overtaking drama in the second round. Rio and Tang Weifeng successfully won the first championship of the Silver Cup category this season. This excellent result is undoubtedly a vivid portrayal of the unremitting efforts of all members of the team, and it also injects strong motivation and confidence into the second half of the season.
The battle will resume this weekend, and Uno Racing Team will continue to send Rio and Tang Weifeng to fight together. In this season's GTWC Asia and China GT, Rio has repeatedly contributed wonderful overtaking dramas in the second half of the race, and is the key driving force for the team to move forward. This time, Rio will start another chapter of honor in Japan.
Tang Weifeng showed excellent speed and stability in the first half of the season, and his cooperation with the team became more and more tacit. This Hong Kong, China warrior has rich experience in Japanese track competitions and has won the Fuji 24 Hours Endurance Race twice. Returning to the blessed place this weekend, Tang Weifeng is expected to become a key role in the team's battle for Fuji.
GTWC Asia Japan Fuji Station will kick off the qualifying and first round finals on July 12 (Saturday), and another round will be held on July 13 (Sunday). We look forward to Uno Racing Team achieving more success.
