Asian Le Mans | Dubai Double Race Officially Started, Polestar Racing and Mercedes-Benz Cars Headed to the Middle East

From February 7 to 9, the 2024-2025 Asian Le Mans Series will move to the Dubai Circuit in the United Arab Emirates to start the second round of the season. Climax Racing will once again send two Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo cars, with six drivers participating in two four-hour races.

The No. 2 team will be teamed up by Zhou Bihuang, Elias Seppanen and Ralf Aron. The three drivers performed well in the previous race in Sepang, Malaysia. In the second round, they were affected by the red flag and stopped fourth in the whole field, failing to get on the podium.

The No. 14 car group is composed of Chinese drivers Lv Wei and Ling Kang and AMG official driver Lucas Auer. In the race at the Sepang station in Malaysia, the three drivers cooperated for the first time to adapt to each other, completing two rounds of the race while accumulating experience together, striving to improve their rankings in the remaining two four-round races in the Middle East and achieve better results.

The Dubai Circuit in the United Arab Emirates was built in 2004. It is the first international circuit in the region and has a variety of unique track layouts. This race adopts the most standard layout of the Dubai Circuit, with a total length of 5.39 kilometers and a total of 16 corners. It is also the first track in the world to use a wide asphalt buffer zone. The track has many compact corners and high-speed corners, and with undulating terrain, it is a big test for the drivers.

After two rounds of the first round of the Sepang Station in Malaysia, the No. 2 car of Climax Racing is currently ranked seventh in the GT group standings with 13 points.

Today, Dubai Circuit took the lead in launching the pre-race test drive. Two cars of Climax Racing took an active part in it, striving to complete the adaptation and familiarization of the track before the race weekend and accumulate valuable data for the vehicle setting work.

In the first paid practice session, the No. 2 car team achieved a time of 1:58.895 and ranked fifth in the GT category; the drivers of the No. 14 car team focused on driving learning on the Dubai Circuit and made some progress, with the fastest lap time of 2:00.788.

In the second paid practice session in the afternoon, the two Climax Racing cars performed well. The No. 14 car team made 1:57.037 and ranked first in the GT group. The No. 2 car followed closely behind with 1:57.104 and ranked second. The two cars took the first and second place in the GT group.

In the evening, during the 90-minute private test session, Climax Racing No. 2 team once again won the first place in the group with the fastest lap of 1:59.197. The good start of the weekend also made the team look forward to the upcoming race; the No. 14 team was completed by two Chinese drivers for 90 minutes of practice time. The long-distance driving experience allowed them to accumulate more track experience.

Tomorrow, the 2024-2025 Asian Le Mans Series will officially start the official practice session on Friday. Climax Racing will continue to move forward and strive to show its strength in the competition and achieve better results!
