Přehled závodníka
Takuya Kurosawa, born on June 7, 1962, is a Japanese race car driver with a diverse career spanning several racing disciplines. As the son of famed driver Motoharu "Gan-san" Kurosawa and the elder brother of fellow racers Haruki and Tsubasa Kurosawa, racing is deeply embedded in his family.
Kurosawa's career began in 1987 in British Formula Ford 1600. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, he competed in the All-Japan Touring Car Championship, securing a runner-up position in 1997. He also gained experience in the All-Japan Formula Three Championship and the All-Japan Formula 3000 Championship, achieving four wins and numerous podium finishes. Further expanding his racing resume, Kurosawa participated in the All-Japan Endurance Championship. In 1993, he took on the role of a test driver for the Jordan-Yamaha Formula 1 team, while also continuing to race in F3000.
From 1994 to 1999, Kurosawa participated in both the Formula Nippon and All-Japan GT Championships. In 1998, he competed in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans and Spa, finishing 10th overall at Le Mans. He also finished as runner-up in the All-Japan GT Championship in 1999. Venturing into American racing in 2000, Kurosawa joined Dale Coyne Racing in the CART series, driving a Lola-Ford. He made eight starts, with a career-high finish of 12th at the Detroit Grand Prix. After an injury-filled season, he returned to Japan to compete in the Japan GT Championship and later the Super GT series. Currently, Kurosawa has transitioned into a team principal role. He also works as a car tester and has been involved in television presenting and broadcasting.
