Organized by SRO Motorsports Group and Team Asia One GT Management, it began in 2022. Originally part of the GT World Challenge Asia, the Japan Cup Series became an independent series in 2024. The series is known for races at prominent circuits like Suzuka International Racing Course, Fuji Speedway, and Okayama International Circuit.
