GTWC Asia Cup Uno Racing Team to compete in Mandalika, Indonesia

News & Announcements Indonesia Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit May 9

From May 9 to 11, the GT World Challenge Asia Cup (GTWC Asia) will usher in the second round of the season at the Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia. With the help of ENDLESS, a well-known Japanese brake system brand, Uno Racing Team's powerful drivers Rio and Tang Weifeng set off again, driving the No. 16 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II car to start a new round of fierce competition.

This weekend is the first time that GTWC Asia has landed at the Mandalika International Circuit, and it is also the first time that the circuit has hosted an international car race. This round of confrontation makes Indonesia the sixth country in Asia to host the GTWC Asia sub-station event, and the Mandalika International Circuit has also become the 12th track in the event map.

The Mandalika International Circuit is located on Lombok Island, Indonesia, facing the vast Indian Ocean and adjacent to the blue sea and white sand. Riders will compete in speed under the breeze. The track is 4.3 kilometers long and has 17 turns. Since its official opening in 2021, it has successfully hosted top two-wheeled events such as MotoGP and WSBK World Superbike Championship.

This event attracted as many as 34 GT3 cars to participate, and the driver lineup gathered the world's top professional GT drivers, and even F1 champions. A group of masters will unlock this new track, and the adaptability of drivers and teams will be fully tested. The high temperature, humidity and frequent rainfall on tropical islands will also challenge the drivers' physical fitness and adaptability. Uno Racing Team will go all out to conquer the new peak of Asian racing.

Rio and Tang Weifeng will continue to steer the No. 16 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II of the Uno Racing Team, competing in the Silver Group and the "China Cup". Rio, who has repeatedly achieved great results in major GT events at home and abroad such as GTSC and Spa 24 Hours, has shown extraordinary strength in the opening race in Sepang, Malaysia, and also demonstrated excellent long-distance speed and strong offensive and defensive strength in the earlier China GT Shanghai Station. It is believed that he will continue his hot state in the duel in Lombok.

Hong Kong professional driver Tong Weifeng, who has participated in top competitions such as the Nürburgring 24 Hours, GT World Challenge European Endurance Cup, and Asian Le Mans Series, also performed well in the opening race and won the runner-up in the Silver Cup category with Rio. It is believed that Tong Weifeng will show strong speed again at the Mandalika International Circuit.

GTWC Asia 2 will have official practice on Friday, qualifying and the first round of the finals on Saturday, and the second round on Sunday. We look forward to Uno Racing Team's first victory at the Mandalika International Circuit!
