Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit joins SRO GT Cup 2025 calendar

News & Announcements China Pingtan Street Circuit 2.937 April 8

The full schedule for the new SRO GT Cup season has been revealed, with Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit in Fujian Province confirmed to host the third and fourth rounds of the season on June 28-29!

This unique semi-street circuit replaces the Zhuhai station originally scheduled to be announced in January, and will join Shanghai, Beijing and Macau to build the SRO GT Cup's year-round event map. The new race date is meaningful, and the SRO GT Cup Pingtan Station will become an important part of the "Pingtan-Macau Cultural Month" series of activities.

Last month, the 2025 SRO GT Cup was grandly unveiled at the Shanghai International Circuit, with a total of 33 cars participating in the competition, setting a new record for the scale of GT4 entries in Asia. As the official support event of the F1 Chinese Grand Prix, the SRO GT Cup presented an exciting competition for fans during the first race weekend.

The Shanghai International Circuit has long been famous as the venue for the F1 event, but the Pingtan Circuit is little known outside China for its unique charm of combining modern cities with coastal scenery. The circuit was completed in 2022 and is composed of Pingtan Island's existing municipal roads, professional track sections and permanent maintenance areas. The two events of this SRO GT Cup will adopt a 2.9-kilometer-long track layout with 14 turns. Prior to this, the CEC China Automobile Endurance Championship and the F4 China Championship have been successfully held here.

At the same time, the FIA has confirmed the dates for the 2025 Macau Grand Prix (November 13-16). As previously announced, the event will be the finale of the SRO GT Cup season - the venue for the Greater Bay Area GT Cup.

In the Shanghai race, Harmony Winhere Racing driver Chen Wei'an established a leading position in the Silver Cup standings, followed by Team Pegasus driver Lu Wenlong. Moritz Berrenberg leads the AM class driver standings with two wins in Shanghai.
