Han Lichao won the second victory of the season in the first round of the SRO GT Cup Pingtan Station on Sunday morning, and took the lead in the driver standings.

In the fierce battle of the AM group, Zhuang Jishun (CHUANG Chi Shun) won his first group championship of the season with a key overtake of Moritz BERRENBERG.

Silver Cup category: Han Lichao won the second victory of the season

Starting from the front row TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China driver Han Lichao and Team TRC driver Darryl O' Young staged a wonderful wheel-to-wheel attack and defense at the start. Han Lichao successfully defended the inside line before Turn 1 and officially established his leading position. LEVEL Motorsports team's Kao Tzu Lung ranked third, and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China driver Wang Hao ranked fourth.

Entering the middle of the race, the No. 95 Mercedes-AMG GT4 car, which was ranked second on the field at the time, lost speed in the middle of the race. Ouyang Ruoxi had to stop at Turn 3 and withdraw from the race early. This accident also triggered the deployment of the safety car for cleanup.

After the safety car stage, the race entered the last lap sprint. Han Lichao drove the No. 33 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO II car to maintain the lead and was the first to welcome the checkered flag. The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China driver successfully won the Silver Cup category in the first round of the Pingtan Station. At the same time, he also took the lead in the Silver Cup category driver standings with his second personal victory of the season.

The other two Silver Cup podiums were won by drivers who also drove the GR Supra. Gao Zilong, a Chinese Taipei driver who participated in the SRO GT Cup for the first time this weekend, won the runner-up; Wang Hao won the third place and won his first podium of the season.

AM category: Zhuang Jishun won the first championship of the season

The competition in the AM category was between Maxmore / W&S Motorsport driver Berenberg and LEVEL Motorsports driver Zhuang Jishun. In the first half of the race, the No. 927 Porsche car and the No. 26 Audi car completed overtaking and counter-overtaking many times, and the leading position in the AM category continued to alternate.

The safety car at halfway slightly interrupted the battle for the lead in the AM group, but it did not stop this wonderful performance. Before the safety car was deployed, Zhuang Jishun surpassed Berenberg and was in the first place in the group. Berenberg tried to attack after the safety car ended, but Zhuang Jishun surpassed a car in front with his performance after the restart, creating space for himself to establish the lead in the AM group.

Zhuang Jishun drove the No. 26 Audi car across the finish line first and won his first AM group championship in the SRO GT Cup this season. Berenberg won the runner-up, further consolidating his advantage in the AM group driver standings. LEONG Ian Veng, a Chinese Macau player, resisted the attack of the drivers behind him in the last lap and successfully climbed onto the third place podium!

Star driver Aarif Lee completed his SRO GT Cup debut on Sunday morning. He performed steadily in the first round of the Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit and competed fiercely with many drivers. Unfortunately, the No. 20 car he was driving had an unexpected situation during the race and withdrew from the competition early.

R2: Han Lichao and Zhuang Jishun won both Pingtan Station

In the second round of the SRO GT Cup Pingtan Station held on Sunday afternoon, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China driver Han Lichao won the final victory in the fierce championship battle and won the second overall championship this weekend!

In the AM category, LEVEL Motorsports driver CHUANG Chi Shun won another victory in the second round, ending the perfect Pingtan race weekend with a double victory.

Silver Cup category: Han Lichao fights for the overall victory

Han Lichao, who started from pole position, did not react quickly at the start. Darryl O' Young, who was driving the No. 95 Mercedes-AMG car next to him, immediately overtook the No. 33 GR Supra car. Wang Hao, who was driving the No. 21 car, and CHUANG Chi Shun, who was driving the No. 26 car, also overtook and moved up in the rankings.

Afterwards, Han Lichao, who had regained his race rhythm, overtook Zhuang Jishun and returned to third place, while Wang Hao in front of him started a battle with the leading driver Ouyang Ruoxi for the first place. During the battle, the two drivers came into contact at Turn 5, causing the No. 21 car to lose control and spin, falling in the rankings, while Ouyang Ruoxi was immediately caught up by Han Lichao behind him.

After that, Ouyang Ruoxi and Han Lichao staged a wonderful offensive and defensive battle on the Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit. The experienced Hong Kong star Ouyang Ruoxi repeatedly resolved the offensive situation from behind, but Han Lichao successfully seized the opportunity to lap the car in the second half of the race and completed the winning overtake on the inside line of Turn 14, rising to the leading position of the whole field.

Finally, Han Lichao took the lead in welcoming the checkered flag and once again climbed the highest podium of the Silver Cup group in the second round. The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China driver won the double-round championship in Pingtan Station and became the half-time winner of the SRO GT Cup driver points this season.

Ouyang Ruoxi, who competed this weekend, made a strong comeback from the first round in the morning and won the second place in this round. LEVEL Motorsports driver KAO Tzu Lung won the third place and achieved two podiums in the group this weekend.

AM Group: Zhuang Jishun won the gold cup again

With an excellent start, Zhuang Jishun overtook Berenberg, who started from the same row, at Turn 1 at the start to take the lead in the AM group and once ranked in the top three. However, Berenberg, driving the No. 927 Porsche car, caught up with the No. 26 Audi car in front at an excellent speed near the halfway point of the race, and completed the overtaking on the inside line of Turn 11, rising to the first place in the AM group.

However, Zhuang Jishun was not quickly left behind after being overtaken, but continued to be within the attack range of Berenberg's car. This also caused Berenberg to make a mistake at Turn 11 after a few laps, and Zhuang Jishun seized the opportunity to overtake and return to the first place in the group.

However, the fierce fight was not over. With 5 minutes left in the race, Berenberg completed the overtake again, but Zhuang Jishun rushed into the inside line at Turn 14 before the start of the last lap, regained the lead, and finally brought this advantage to the waving of the checkered flag. Zhuang Jishun laughed to the end in the two-round AM group duel in Pingtan Station and won the championship trophy again. Moritz Berenberg won the runner-up and continued to top the AM group driver standings.

The third place in the AM group went to Huang Kuisheng, who participated in the SRO GT Cup for the first time this weekend. Driving the Team Pegasus No. 3 Lotus Emira GT4, he prevailed over LEONG Ian Veng and won the last place on the podium.

The No. 20 car driven by star driver Aarif Lee suffered vehicle damage in the first round of the morning race. Although the team members tried their best to repair it, the severe mechanical problem was difficult to repair in the afternoon, which made him miss the second round of the competition.

The SRO GT Cup Pingtan Station officially came to an end at the Ruyi Lake. All the powerful drivers jointly presented the fans with a wonderful second round of competition.
