The prestigious F1 Heineken Chinese Grand Prix will serve as an excellent starting point for SRO's new GT4 national event! Each race will consist of two 30-minute sprint races, with each car driven by a single driver.
The number of participating cars and the wide participation of automakers even exceeded the expectations of the event organizers. Considering that the event was not first put on the agenda until late November 2024, the SRO Asia team and its partner, the Automobile Association of Macau (AAMC), worked tirelessly to ensure that the event was officially implemented before the scheduled debut date.

It is worth noting that despite the limited preparation time, the lineup of the SRO GT Cup Shanghai Station is considered to be the largest GT4 event lineup in the history of the Asian region.
The results and points will be counted towards the SRO GT Cup’s Am and Silver annual championships, and will also serve as a qualifier for the Macau Grand Prix – Greater Bay Area GT Cup.

Shanghai will also serve as the first two races of the 2025 Global GT4 Manufacturers Ranking, which consists of nine championships on four continents, with a total of 100 races to determine the final ranking. Seven of the eight manufacturers that have completed registration will appear this weekend.
Among them is Mercedes-AMG, which will have seven cars participating, making it the automaker with the most cars in Shanghai. Porsche will follow closely behind, with six Porsche Cayman cars competing. Toyota is also not to be overlooked, with four GR Supras set to join the fray.
In addition, Audi, BMW, Gillette, Lotus and McLaren will all field multiple cars, while Aston Martin and KTM will each field one car.

These cars will be driven by the country’s top teams and drivers.
Wang Hao, three-time CEC China Endurance Championship GT4 driver champion, and his 2023 and 2024 championship teammate Han Lichao, will both race for Toyota’s Toyota Gazoo Racing China team this weekend.
Former Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Drivers’ Champion Lu Wenlong will compete for Team Pegasus, which also includes Shanghai 8 Hours podium winner Liao Qishun.
Kairo Luo and Weian Chen are regulars in the GT3 class for AWS in GT World Challenge Asia, while Junhua Chen is another GT3 racer with TSS Thailand Super Series experience.
The two 30-minute races will be broadcast live on major Chinese live streaming platforms and SRO’s YouTube channel "GT World" this Saturday and Sunday, with Chinese commentary.
