Wuhan International Circuit
Circuit Overview
Wuhan International Circuit is the first FAI2 class international race track in central China, located in Wuhan International Intelligent Networked Vehicle Test Track in Junshan New Town, Wuhan Jingkai District.
With a total length of 4,290 metres and a design speed of 300 kilometres per hour, the circuit features 17 curves with different radii, including a minimum curve radius of 10.8 metres, a maximum straight-line length of 602 metres and a maximum acceleration distance of 958 metres.
The design of the track is inspired by butterflies and is named ‘Chasing Butterfly's Dream’, which means to add power to automobile sports without destroying the natural ecological environment. The track designer, Yao Qiming, is the only woman and Chinese among the 12 track designers in the world licensed by the FIA.
The Wuhan International Circuit can not only be used for automotive testing, but can also host international events such as Formula 2 racing competitions.2024 In August, Wuhan Economic Development Zone signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Geely Mintai Technology Group Co. Ltd. in which Mintai Group will rely on the Wuhan Intelligent Internet Connected Vehicle Test Track to bring in a number of international and domestic high-end events, such as the FIA F4 China Championship, the CEC China Automotive Endurance Championship of China, etc.
MINTIMESGP plans to hold the 2024 ‘Chegu Cup’ Series and Recreational Skills Race under the MINTIMESGP in November 2024, and will introduce a number of domestic high-level races and its Asian GT races from next year onwards. In addition, cross-country tracks and karting tracks are planned around the circuit, and the original straight line of the circuit has been used to create the 04 track, i.e., the 0-400 metre straight-line speedway, to attract a wider range of motor sports enthusiasts to participate in the event.
In addition to race operations, Wuhan International Circuit will also hold various commercial activities, large-scale auto music festivals, etc., and gradually build a new commercial platform ecology with the circuit as the core, integrating racing competition, auto business, auto experience, culture and entertainment.
