Jimmy Lin

Jimmy Lin’s racing career began in his childhood when he won the runner-up in a Taiwanese remote control car competition at the age of 10, showing a deep interest in racing. At 15, he bought his first car with money earned from part-time jobs and started modifying it himself, laying the foundation for his future racing career. In 1997, Lin acquired his first Ferrari and later participated in the Super Sports Car Cup, where he achieved a third-place finish, marking the beginning of his career as a professional race car driver.

As a professional, Lin made it to the top eight in the annual rankings of Group N drivers in the China Rally Championship and repeatedly won championships in the China Renault Formula races. He broke the fastest single lap record at the Longtan Super Car track in Taiwan four times in one year and achieved a record of four consecutive annual victories in Taiwan’s Super Sports Car Race. In 2005, he competed in the Asian Renault Formula with the Dynaten Formula team, finishing fifth, which was the highest placement for a Chinese team in that event. Additionally, Lin established the ESSO Jimmy Racing Team and joined the “Jimmy Lin Rally Team” in 2006, further expanding his influence in the racing world.

Lin’s racing career has not been without challenges; he has experienced severe car accidents, but these did not diminish his passion for racing. In July 2022, Lin was involved in a serious car accident, suffering facial bone fractures and a comminuted fracture in his shoulder. However, with strong willpower and family support, he overcame these challenges and stood up again. This experience gave him a deeper understanding of racing and made him cherish every opportunity on the track even more.
