The 72nd Macau Grand Prix will take place from 13 to 16 November 2025, sanctioned by the Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC) under the authorization of the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and listed on the FIA International Sporting Calendar.
Among its several race categories, one of the featured events is the Macau Roadsport Challenge, a restricted international competition exclusively for Toyota GR86 (ZN8) and Subaru BRZ (ZD8) models.

- Engine & Chassis: Each car must use one sealed engine and one sealed chassis throughout the event; changing either may result in disqualification.
- Noise Limit: ≤110 dB(A) at 4000 rpm, measured 0.5 m from exhaust outlet at 45°
- Data Logging: Mandatory FIA-specified datalogger and ECU must be operational and sealed.
- Onboard Camera: Official AAMC system required for all cars. Footage must be surrendered upon request.
- Fuel: Controlled unleaded fuel supplied by the appointed provider; no refuelling allowed during sessions or races.
Eligible Drivers and Entry
- Licence Requirement: Minimum FIA International Grade ITD1 or ITD-C.
- Medical Certificate: Mandatory for all drivers.
- Entry Restriction:
- 32 drivers total — top 16 from Group A and top 16 from Group B in the 2025 Macau Touring Car Series (MTCS) standings.
- Each competitor must enter with the same car used in MTCS.
- Entry Period: 25 August – 19 September 2025.
- Entry Fee: MOP 6,000.
- Late Changes: Administrative change before race week: MOP 2,000 fee.
- No driver substitution permitted.
Event Format and Schedule
Sessions:
- Free Practice: 30 minutes
- Qualifying: 30 minutes
- Race: 9 laps or 35 minutes maximum
If the race is suspended, stoppage time may be added to the total. Participation in qualifying is mandatory to start the race. Drivers who miss qualifying due to irreparable damage may start at the back of the grid with steward approval.
Starting Procedure:

- Grid Formation: 1x1 staggered, 7.2 m spacing; pole on the right-hand side.
- Lights Start: 5-second countdown sequence (5–4–3–2–1 red lights, then off).
- Pit Lane Start: Permitted if a car misses grid time limit or is penalized.
Tyres and Weight Regulations

- Slick Tyres: 225/625-17 SLICKDHC (max. 2 sets / 8 pcs per car)
- Rain Tyres: 205/45R17 RW1C (max. 2 sets / 8 pcs per car)
- Carried-over Tyres: Registered tyres from MTCS Round 3 & 4 allowed under same limit.
- Rim: 17-inch; tyre width ≤225 mm.
- Tyre Warmers: Prohibited.
- Treatment: No chemical or mechanical alteration permitted.
- Minimum Car Weight: 1170 kg (without driver).
Cars may be weighed randomly during qualifying and post-race; non-compliance can lead to disqualification or grid penalty.
Penalties and Appeals
The stewards may impose:
- Drive-through or 10-second stop-and-go penalties
- Time penalty, reprimand, grid drop, or fine (up to MOP 50,000)
- Protests: MOP 10,000 deposit
- Appeals: MOP 60,000 deposit
Certain penalties (e.g., drive-through, grid drop, etc.) are not subject to appeal.
Safety and Conduct
- Pit Speed Limit: 50 km/h (fine: MOP 500 per km/h over limit)
- No reverse driving in pit lane (fine: MOP 5,000)
- Refuelling and liquid refills prohibited during sessions/races
- Track exit/entry must not endanger others; white lines define limits.
- Mandatory lights during “wet track” conditions
- Protective gear: FIA-homologated race suit, helmet, and HANS device required.
- Under-18s not allowed in pit or grid areas.
Awards and Promotion
- Trophies: Awarded to top finishers (details announced later).
- Podium caps: Supplied by Pirelli, mandatory for ceremony.
- Media obligations: All drivers must attend press conferences, autograph sessions, and promotional activities.
- Rights: Organizer retains rights to driver and car images for official Macau Grand Prix promotion.
