PCCA PEREIRA won three consecutive championships, Bao Jinlong dominated the elite group, and Ye Zhengyang stepped onto the podium

News & Announcements Malaysia Sepang International Circuit June 10

Extremely hot | extremely wet | extreme

On a scorching Sunday, the Sepang Circuit witnessed everything. The morning was a close sprint, and the afternoon was supposed to be an endurance race that required a certain rhythm, but it unexpectedly turned into another all-out sprint.

The originally predicted rainstorm did not come as expected, and was replaced by scorching sunshine, dull humidity, and exhaustion for both drivers and tires. But as if this was not difficult enough, the afternoon round was fully restarted due to a red flag: everything started from scratch, and the battle started all over again.

Three races, three wins

The power of pink is unstoppable

A perfect crowning of the triple crown

Pereira proved with his strength that Sepang is his territory.

In the sixth round of the morning race, he started from pole position and hit the target in one shot, quickly leaving his opponent behind. Although the safety car caused him to lose 5.5 seconds of lead, he did not waver. After the race restarted, he once again crossed the finish line first, without suspense.

But he really became a god in the seventh round of the afternoon. He started perfectly again and quickly established a lead, but because of the red flag caused by the rear accident, everything was forced to reset to zero, and the advantage dissipated in an instant.

The 40-minute break did not disrupt his rhythm. Instead, after the restart, Pereira performed perfectly again without making any mistakes. He opened up a gap of 1.5 seconds per lap, refreshed the fastest lap of the whole field, and finally crossed the finish line with a huge advantage of 21 seconds. This is not only a victory, but also a declaration.

Throughout the weekend, Pereira seemed to have entered a "God-given state": **Winning three pole positions in a row, winning three victories, and controlling the overall situation. **

And behind the helmet, he had no emotional outbursts, no exaggerated celebrations, only a calm and focused look. Maybe it was because his parents came from Luxembourg to cheer him up; maybe there was a deeper power.

This weekend, Pereira not only won the race, he also surpassed himself.

Three wins in three races

Three consecutive championships in the Pro/Am category

In racing, luck sometimes favors the brave, but it also favors those who are steadfast. Bao Jinlong won all three group championships in Sepang, and with a standard "perfect weekend", he once again proved the stable strength of the champion.

Bao Jinlong, who has won the second consecutive championship in the Pro/Am category this season, lived up to expectations and successfully won the third championship in the Pro/Am category at Sepang. In the morning race, he fought hard all the way and firmly held the leading position in the category.

The afternoon race started badly, and he was squeezed to the back in the first lap, and the situation was not good for a while. But the appearance of the red flag gave him an excellent second chance. After the restart, he remained calm and regained the lead in the group with his steady performance. In the post-race interview, he said: "My heartbeat was almost up to 200, and it was so hot in the car, but I was still fully focused and carried the last six laps."

Ups and downs, back on the podium

Young Ye Zhengyang had a challenging but rewarding Sunday. He started in P3 in the morning round, but encountered a melee in the first corner. Despite this, he still fought hard to catch up and won the eighth place in the whole race.

In the afternoon race, he performed well and once rose to second place. Although he failed to counterattack after the red flag restart, he still kept the podium. This is also his second podium after the Saturday night race. His perseverance is commendable.

Rookie shows his edge

This station's rookie Josh Rowledge started from P5 in the morning race and actively attacked to rise to fourth place, with an eye-catching performance.

He started from P6 in the afternoon race, but was disrupted by the red flag and finally held the eighth place in the whole field. In this rookie season, he has proved again and again that he not only has speed, but also a calm mentality, which makes him a powerful player who cannot be underestimated in the field every weekend before.

Solid performance, Fourth in the Pro/Am category

Li Chao performed well in the Pro/Am category, reaching the podium in the morning round, staying calm in the chaos in the afternoon, and finally finishing fourth in the category. A steady end to this weekend.

Regrets, but significant progress

For Yan Chuang, the gentleman driver who joined Phantom Global this season, the two races on Sunday were very different. **

In the morning round, he chased from the last position on the starting grid, neatly avoiding all chaotic accidents, overtaking eight cars in a row, and finally won the fourth place in the AM category.

Unfortunately, his good luck did not continue in the afternoon. He was unfortunately involved in a collision that caused a red flag in the first lap, and the car was too damaged to finish the race.

Although the ending was regrettable, Yan Chuang continued to improve in one race after another. There is no doubt that he will occupy a place at the forefront of the AM category in the near future.
