F4 World Cup joins Macau Grand Prix
News & Announcements Macau S.A.R. Macau Guia Circuit May 9
According to the FIA on May 7:
The FIA F4 World Cup will be held at the Macau Grand Prix from November 13 to 16, 2025. Mingtai Racing will join the Macau Grand Prix with the F4 World Cup.
The Macau Grand Prix is hosted and promoted by the Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee and the Automobile Association of Macau, China (AAMC). The 72nd Macau Grand Prix will be held from November 13 to 16, 2025. It is one of the most prestigious events in the world of racing.
Youth training is the core of the FIA F4 Formula and the guiding principle for establishing the FIA Formula 4 World Cup. As there are fewer and fewer street circuits for young drivers to participate in national and regional level events, this event will provide young drivers with more opportunities to compete in the Guia Circuit, a 6.12-kilometer rugged asphalt track that winds along Macau's historic waterfront. The best young drivers will be promoted to higher-level formula events.
The concept of FIA Formula 4 racing was first introduced more than a decade ago and has become one of the most successful events in the history of youth motorsport. Globally, no fewer than 13 national series are organized by the National Automobile Sports Association (ASN) within the framework of the FIA technical and sporting regulations.
The FIA F4 World Cup in Macau, China will provide top drivers with an excellent opportunity to compete with the F4 elite from around the world. The event will use a strict driver selection process, and only the most talented young drivers will be able to participate. Mingtai Racing, the organizer of the FIA Formula 4 China Championship, will exclusively operate the event and provide technical support for the FIA F4 World Cup together with the French Automobile Federation (FFSA).
The program also hopes to attract karting academy students from China and the Asia-Pacific region to watch the event, providing them with an opportunity to experience car racing and provide valuable insights for their next career steps.
Mr. Emanuele Pirro, Chairman of the FIA Single Seater Commission: "Macao, China is an important link in the development of young drivers. We have a responsibility to protect its history and future. The lack of challenges like the Macau Grand Prix made us think that now is the right time to establish the FIA F4 World Cup. The event will give top drivers from national level the opportunity to learn to drive an F4 car on the Guia Circuit, which is more forgiving than driving a FR car, so when they come back to participate in the FR World Cup in one or two years, they will be ready to show their abilities.

It’s exciting that the Macau Grand Prix is becoming a true motorsport extravaganza, with single-seater events, the GT World Cup and Touring Cars, the 2025 event is already shaping up to be something very special. We are also working hard to ensure that we can use this opportunity to inspire and develop young karting drivers in the region – we are driving participation in motorsport, and there is huge potential for growth and development in China and the Asia-Pacific region. "
Mr. Zhong Guorong, Chairman of the China Macau Automobile Association: "We are very pleased to see the FIA hold an F4 World Cup at the Guia Circuit in Macau. This provides an opportunity for young drivers in the region to explore their development path from international karting events to single-seater F4 and FR racing, and become world champions in the future."
Mr. Wang Feng, General Manager of Mingtai Motorsport Co., Ltd.: "It is a great honor to witness the debut of the FIA F4 World Cup on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the FIA F4. The Macau Grand Prix will add a new focus , the world's top F4 young drivers will set new records on this legendary track, and China's best young drivers will also show their competitive level and youthful talent at home.
Mingtai Racing joins the first year of the F4 World Cup as an operator. It is the greatest praise from the FIA for the operation of the F4 Formula China Championship, and it is also the best proof of the 20-year continuous cultivation of the Formula by the Mingtai Racing team. This is a historic moment. Thank you very much to the FIA, the China Macau Automobile Association and the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation for their support and trust in Mingtai Racing. This is both an opportunity and a challenge. Mingtai Racing will keep its original intention, continue to learn from international high-level teams, and strive for greater progress. We can feel the heavy responsibility on our shoulders, and we are already preparing carefully to provide the best participation services for top F4 drivers from all over the world.
I hope more young Chinese drivers will join the F4 Formula China Championship. Let us meet in Macau in November to witness this world-class F4 Formula event together. "
