News & Announcements China January 3

In the 2024 season, the South China racing team Zhongshan SRC team took an important step since its establishment, participating in the fierce competition of the CTCC China Automobile Circuit Professional League for the first time, and won breakthrough championship trophies and valuable experience in three sub-station events.

As a team that has won the annual championship in Guangdong regional competitions for four consecutive years, the Zhongshan SRC team has been widely praised for its outstanding performance and stable strength. However, the team is not satisfied with the existing achievements, but constantly seeks new challenges and progress. Participating in CTCC this year is an important step for the team to move to a higher level and a broader stage.

In this year's competition, Zhongshan SRC Racing Team deployed two Audi RS 3 LMS to participate in the TCR China Challenge category. Team leader and main driver Wu Jiucheng participated in the competition in Zhuzhou Station (first station/sixth station) and Shanghai Station (second station). In the opening game, he formed a partner with another driver Fu Guxiang and fought side by side.

Wu Jiucheng improved several positions in the first round of the decisive battle and entered the points zone. Unfortunately, he failed to make further gains in the second round. Fu Guxiang's two games ended in retirement.

The second race of the season moved to Shanghai International Circuit. After adapting to the first race, the Zhongshan SRC team gradually got into the new round of competition. In the qualifying round, Wu Jiucheng, who visited the "Shanghai" track for the first time, refreshed the best record of the season and won the sixth place in the TCR China Challenge. In the first round of the race, Wu Jiucheng did not rush forward and successfully brought back the sixth place in the fierce battle.

In the second round final, Wu Jiucheng, who had a better understanding of the high-speed F1 track, went all out in the game and challenged the podium. He also proved his strength with his outstanding performance, leading the whole field for a time, and had exciting offensive and defensive duels with many opponents. In the end, Wu Jiucheng won the championship bravely and took home his first national championship trophy.

After three races, Zhongshan SRC Team and Wu Jiucheng returned to Zhuzhou for the final battle of the TCR China Challenge and took to the field again. Under the test of complex and changeable weather, the whole weekend's competition was not easy. Based on previous experience, Wu Jiucheng raced at full speed in the qualifying and won the third place, successfully refreshing his personal best qualifying record of the season.

In the final stage, the Zhongshan SRC driver saved the car in the fierce competition, successfully completed two rounds of competition, and entered the points zone consecutively, winning seventh and ninth respectively, raising the season points to three digits. In the end, Wu Jiucheng won 117 points through three races, ranking eighth in the TCR China Challenge driver of the year.

Wu Jiucheng mentioned in the competition: "This year I personally experienced the unique charm of CTCC. In every race, I faced unfamiliar tracks with limited practice opportunities, endured the pressure from unfamiliar environments, and had to overcome the disadvantage of the old car's lack of competitiveness to fight. However, relying on my years of track experience and firm belief, I turned pressure into motivation and conquered those unfamiliar corners one by one. Just like the spirit conveyed by SRC's Chinese name, Su Bo, I hope to bring the passion of speed and the sentiment of Zhongshan's love to inject new vitality and ignite new sparks into the inheritance and development of Chinese racing culture.

Through this season's CTCC journey, the Zhongshan SRC team has proved its strength on the national stage and achieved a leap in performance. The Zhongshan SRC team will continue to work hard to achieve greater breakthroughs and climb higher peaks.
