Pietro Fittipaldi da Cruz, born on June 25, 1996, is a Brazilian-American racing driver carving his path in motorsports. As the grandson of two-time Formula One World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, racing is in his blood. Currently, he competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Pratt Miller Motorsports and the European Le Mans Series for Vector Sport. He also serves as a reserve driver in Formula One for Haas.
Fittipaldi's career began in karting before transitioning to stock cars, where he quickly found success, winning the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Limited Late Models championship and Rookie of the Year award in 2011. He transitioned to open-wheel racing in 2013, competing in various series across Europe. His breakthrough came in 2014 when he dominated the Protyre Formula Renault Championship, securing the title with ten wins from fifteen starts. He further solidified his reputation by winning the 2015-16 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship and the 2017 World Series Formula V8 3.5.
Pietro's journey includes stints in IndyCar, where he debuted in 2018, and the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) in 2019. He made his Formula 1 debut in 2020, filling in for the injured Romain Grosjean for Haas at the Sakhir Grand Prix, marking a significant milestone for the Fittipaldi family. Since then, he has continued his role as a reserve driver for Haas while exploring opportunities in sports car racing, including the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2024, he participated full-time in the IndyCar Series with RLL. He decided to move away from his single-seater career in 2025, moving into the IMSA series.
