Mine Circuit
Circuit Overview
Mine Circuit was a technical and challenging racetrack located in Japan’s Yamaguchi Prefecture. It featured a mix of high-speed straights and tight corners, making it a demanding track for both drivers and engineers. The circuit had significant elevation changes and a relatively narrow layout, requiring precise car control and braking.
Notable Sections
Main Straight: A medium-length straight leading into a tricky first corner, demanding good exit speed.
Elevation Changes: The circuit had undulating terrain, requiring well-balanced setups.
Technical Mid-Section: A series of tight and flowing corners testing both handling and driver skill.
Racing History
Mine Circuit hosted various domestic Japanese racing series, including touring cars and single-seaters. It was never part of the major international racing calendar but was a popular venue for private testing and local motorsports events.
Closure and Current Status
The circuit closed in 2006 due to financial difficulties. It has since been repurposed, and the site is no longer used for motorsports. However, its legacy remains in the history of Japanese racing culture.
