Prototype Winter Series Overview

The Prototype Winter Series is a premier racing championship dedicated exclusively to prototype race cars, offering teams and drivers the opportunity to compete on some of Southern Europe's most renowned circuits during the winter months.

Organized by Gedlich Racing and officially licensed by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), the series typically runs from January to March, featuring a schedule that includes multiple events across Portugal and Spain.

The series is structured to accommodate various prototype classes, with a particular emphasis on LMP3-spec cars of both first and second generations. This inclusivity allows for a diverse grid, fostering competitive racing among different vehicle specifications.

Each event spans four days, comprising two test days followed by two race days. The race format typically includes two qualifying sessions and two 50-minute races per day, providing ample track time for participants to fine-tune their vehicles and strategies.

The Prototype Winter Series serves as an ideal platform for teams to prepare for the upcoming racing season, offering valuable testing and development opportunities in favorable climates. Additionally, it provides drivers with the chance to maintain and enhance their competitive edge during the traditional off-season.
