Absolute Racing has announced that it will enter two Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) cars in the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia presented by AWS, forming a new dual-car line-up.
Among them, No. 321 Absolute Racing Porsche will be driven by Xuanyu Li, a newcomer to the series, and Wenlong Lu, a former Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champion, in the Silver-Am category . The two Chinese drivers are no strangers to Absolute Racing - they have represented the team in many races. Li Xuanyu competed in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Challenge last season, and also partnered with Lu Wenlong to participate in the GT3 category of the TSS Super Series - the highlight of the Bangsaen Grand Prix.
Lu Wenlong was a member of the Porsche China Young Driver Program. As early as 2017, he joined the Absolute Racing Team for the first time and won the annual runner-up in the Asian Formula Masters that year. The following year, he continued to compete with the team in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. In recent years, Lu Wenlong has sporadically participated in some stations of the GT World Challenge Asia Cup. The 2025 season will be his first full season in the series.
Another Absolute Racing Porsche No. 911** will be driven by** Wang Zhongwei** and** Patrick Pilet**, a veteran of the French Porsche factory team** in the** Pro-Am category. Although Wang Zhongwei is competing for the Absolute Racing team for the first time, he has rich GT and Formula experience, having competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, the Regional Formula Championships in the Middle East and Japan. This gentleman driver is also a frequent visitor to domestic GT events, and finished ninth in the Pro-Am category of the GT World Challenge Asia Cup last season.
Patrick Pilet has been an official Porsche driver since 2008 and has won a number of titles including the Daytona 24 Hours, Sebring 12 Hours, Petit Le Mans and Nürburgring 24 Hours. He has also won the GT World Challenge Asia Cup overall.
