News & Announcements China March 3

The 2025 TCR Asia opening race will be held at the same venue as TCR China at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Since 2017, TCR Asia and TCR China have competed together 9 times. Let's review those wonderful moments together.

August 26-27, 2017: Shanghai International Circuit

TCR Asia and TCR China will join hands for the first time, adopting the "double race mixed run" format. The participating vehicles of the two events will appear on the track at the same time to compete. Although the final results are calculated independently, the qualifying competition and the starting order are the top priorities of the two races.

October 7-8, 2017: Zhejiang International Circuit

TCR Asia and TCR China will be held together again, and will also compete with TCR International, the highest level of TCR in the world. TCR China is the third race of the season, while TCR Asia is the final race of this year.

October 4-5, 2018: Shanghai International Circuit

TCR Asia and TCR China meet again in Shanghai, competing with the Shanghai 888km Endurance Race and Audi R8 LMS CUP.

May 3, 2019: Zhuhai International Circuit

TCR Asia and TCR China had their first race together in 2019 at Zhuhai International Circuit. In the last two laps of the first round final, the safety car was deployed because of an accident on the track. In the end, the safety car withdrew on the last lap and the drivers crossed the finish line in order.

June 1-2, 2019: Shanghai International Circuit

TCR China and TCR Asia teamed up again, with 21 top drivers competing on the same track. Xie Xinzhe and Daniel Lloyd showed the strength of TCR China drivers in front of TCR Asia stars. Luca Engstler, a descendant of a touring car racing legend in TCR Asia, and world champion driver Pepe Oriola were suppressed by TCR China drivers for a whole race, but they found a chance to fight back in the second round of the final.

July 6-7, 2019: Zhejiang International Circuit

TCR China competed with TCR Asia for the third consecutive race. In this sub-station, TCR Asia and TCR China continued the previous all-star lineup of Asian touring car players. As the highest level TCR event in Asia, it attracted local fans. Whether it was the last race of the day or the earliest race, Zhejiang International Circuit was always full.

2021: Shanghai International Circuit/Shanghai Tianma Circuit

In 2021, TCR Asia and TCR China held two competitions at the Shanghai International Circuit and Tianma Circuit respectively, and they often blended well in the combined races. Although the two events are not the same event, they are better than the same event. The cooperation of the two major events has once again promoted the communication and learning between drivers from all over Asia, and the drivers will also push their speed to the limit in the competition.

The 2023 Macau race, whether in terms of the variety of participating models, the strength of participating teams or participating drivers, this joint race of TCR Asia and TCR China can be called the "WTCR in the Asian region". It is not easy to reach the top in such a competition.
