News & Announcements China Shanghai International Circuit April 26

On April 25, the first stop of the 2025 TCR Asia Series (TCR Asia Series) in Shanghai Jiading Station officially started the qualifying competition at the Shanghai International Circuit. RevX Racing's Zhang Boshang won the pole position, and Team TRC's Zhang Hongzhi and Chen Haoting won the second and third place respectively.

Q1: 19 drivers officially debuted

After 4 pm, the weather at the Shanghai International Circuit was fine, with temperatures ranging from 18-20 degrees Celsius. The TCR Asia Series (TCR Asia Series) kicked off the first qualifying competition, and 19 drivers drove onto the track one after another after the green light came on.

Zhang Boshang shocked everyone after his debut, and temporarily topped the list with a time of 2 minutes 11 seconds 856. After three laps, Zhang Boshang chose to drive the car back to the maintenance area. Liu Zichen of 326 Motor Sports then made a time of 2 minutes 11 seconds 768, leading Zhang Boshang by only 0.088 seconds to the top of the list. At this time, Jiang Nan, Tang Zihao and Chen Haoting from Z.Speed Community are temporarily ranked third to fifth.

Entering the critical moment of the last five minutes, the top five of the game did not change. Since the top 12 of this qualifying round will advance to the second qualifying round, the competition for the ninth to twelfth positions is very important. Zhang Hongzhi scored 2 points and 12.618 points to get fifth place in the game. And until there were less than two minutes left in the game, Cai Guanming of Team TRC was still one step away from advancing and temporarily ranked 13th.

Finally, the first qualifying session ended, Liu Zichen won the first place with a score of 2 minutes 11 seconds 768, Zhang Yishang came in second, and Jiang Nan took third. Tang Zihao, Zhang Hongzhi, Chen Haoting, Sun Juran of Guangzhou Spark Racing, Yang Haojie of Z.Speed Community, Benny SANTOSO of Z.Speed Mas, ReinghBert G DIWA of Eurasia Motorsport, Zhao Di of 326 Motorsport and Zhou Haowen of Shanghai Hanting DRT Team advanced to Q2 with the top three drivers and started the battle for pole position.

Q2: Zhang Boshang won the pole position

After a short break, the second qualifying session officially began. The above 12 drivers started a 10-minute journey to hit the pole position. Zhang Boshang scored 2 minutes 10 seconds 995 in the first lap, setting a new benchmark for the entire field.

Zhang Hongzhi and Chen Haoting followed closely behind, but there was still a gap of about 0.3 seconds in lap time with the leader.

Yang Haojie was fourth, and Zhao Di was temporarily fifth. The drivers in the front row failed to improve their performance in the second lap. Liu Zichen moved up to fourth, pushing Zhao Di and Jiang Nan to fifth and sixth.

Finally, the checkered flag waved, and the qualifying race officially ended. Zhang Boshang's first lap performance was enough to take pole position, while Zhang Hongzhi and Chen Haoting took second and third place. It is worth mentioning that in this season, the TCR Asia Series continues to receive full support from Sailun Tires. After the qualifying round, Li Ningjie, the car racing director of Sailun Group, presented tire awards to Zhang Boshang, Zhang Hongzhi and Chen Haoting, who won the top three in the qualifying round.

The two rounds of the finals of the TCR Asia Series will be held at 10:10 am on Saturday and 9:15 am on Sunday.

Pole Position Voice | RevX Racing Zhang Boshang
Actually, I personally don't run much at the Shanghai International Circuit, and I rely on simulators to familiarize myself with the track. Thanks to the Revx team this weekend. We all worked hard together to make progress. We hope to achieve good results in the next race and turn today's efforts into tomorrow's victory.
