Gianmaria Bruni

Gianmaria "Gimmi" Bruni, born on May 30, 1981, is a highly accomplished Italian racing driver with a career spanning various motorsport disciplines. Bruni's journey began in karting at a young age and quickly progressed to single-seaters, where he secured championships in Italian Formula Renault Campus (1998) and Formula Renault Eurocup (1999). His early success paved the way for a stint in British Formula 3 before reaching Formula 1.

In 2004, Bruni joined Minardi in Formula 1. Later in his career, he transitioned to GT racing in 2007, driving for AF Corse in the FIA GT Championship, marking a turning point. He has since become a prominent figure in GT racing, achieving significant success with Ferrari and later with Porsche. Bruni's accolades include multiple class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2008, 2012, 2014), FIA GT Championship (2008), Le Mans Series (2011), and FIA World Endurance Championship GT Drivers' Titles (2013, 2014).

Bruni's versatility and skill have led him to compete in various racing series, including GP2, American Le Mans Series, and the FIA World Endurance Championship. In recent years, he has been a Porsche factory driver, contributing to their success in GT racing. In 2023, Bruni joined Porsche customer team Proton Competition to drive the Porsche 963 hypercar and also secured a victory in LMP2 at the 24 Hours of Daytona. For the 2025 season, Gimmi will drive the Porsche 963 LMdh (Hypercar) for the American team JDC motorsport in the IMSA championship.
