Previously, until 2023, he was a factory driver for Honda. Oyu's career began in karting, where he quickly found success, winning the All-Japan Junior Kart Championship in 2010. He transitioned to single-seater racing in 2015 and graduated top of his class from the Suzuka Circuit Racing School Formula (SRS-F) in 2016, earning a scholarship.
Oyu's career progressed through the ranks of Japanese motorsports, including FIA-F4, Japanese Formula 3, Super GT, and Super Formula. He secured his first Super Formula victory in 2020. In 2024, Oyu joined Team KeePer Cerumo in Super GT and Sanki Vertex Partners Cerumo Inging in Super Formula after switching to Toyota.
