Racing Driver Norberto Fontana

Norberto Edgardo Fontana, born on January 20, 1975, is a distinguished Argentine racing driver with a career spanning various motorsport disciplines. Fontana's early career began in karting at the age of 8, progressing through the ranks and eventually transitioning to car racing in the Formula Renault Argentina series. His success in the 1995 German Formula Three Championship, where he clinched the title ahead of notable drivers, marked him as a rising star.

Fontana's Formula One journey included four Grands Prix appearances in 1997 with Sauber, stepping in due to injuries sustained by Gianni Morbidelli. While he didn't score any championship points, his brief stint in F1 provided valuable experience. He also gained attention during the 1997 European Grand Prix for his defensive driving.

After Formula One, Fontana continued his racing career in Formula Nippon and later found success in Argentine touring car racing. He secured championships in TC2000 (2002 and 2010) and Turismo Carretera (2006), showcasing his adaptability and skill across different racing formats. Fontana also participated in the Dakar Rally in 2011, demonstrating his diverse interests within motorsport. In 2010, he was recognized as one of the best Argentine racing drivers of the decade with the Konex Award.
