He began his racing career at the age of eight, winning his first victory in the 2017 FIA Formula 4 China Championship in Zhuhai. Since then, he has performed well in many events, including successfully defending his title in the 68th Macau Grand Prix Formula 4 World Cup (F4) in 2021. As of July 2023, Leong Hon Chiu is also the annual champion of the Shell Helix FIA Formula 4 China Championship.
