CCTV interviews champion driver Liang Hanzhao: Racing ignites the youth

Recently, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the return of Macau, China, CCTV4 officially launched a special program "Home in Macau", focusing on the development and changes in all aspects of Macau, China from the first-hand perspective of many Macau people. Macau driver Liang Hon Zhao became the protagonist of the third episode of the series.

Liang Hon Zhao's road to the Formula Championship started at the Shell Helix FIA Formula 4 China Championship. During the karting competition, Liang Hon Zhao won numerous championships including the CKC China Karting Championship. After entering the Formula Arena, Liang Hon Zhao's performance was impressive, and he won the first Shell Helix FIA Formula 4 China Championship in 2016.

In 2017, Liang Hanzhao won the annual championship in the Shell Helix FIA Formula 4 Chinese Championship four rounds ahead of schedule and was invited to participate in the FIA annual awards ceremony.

After winning the annual championship, Leung Hon Chiu began to compete in races around the world. In 2020, the Shell Helix FIA Formula 4 Chinese Championship went to the Guia Circuit. Leung Hon Chiu represented Black Blade Racing at home and completed Pole to Win, becoming the second Chinese Macau driver to win at home after André Couto.

In the 2021 Macau Grand Prix, Liang Hanzhao once again played at home as the defending champion, won the pole position in the qualifying round and lifted the championship trophy again.

Winning the Shell Helix FIA Formula 4 China Championship Macau twice has made the world of motorsports know more about Leung and the development of Chinese motorsports. "If it is an international competition, it is actually a great honor to be able to raise the national flag." Leung said.

When competing in the Shell Helix FIA Formula 4 China Championship, Leung said that he believed that "in the future international arena, there will be more and more Chinese drivers to prove the strength of Chinese racing to the world." F4, Formula Four, is a formula event founded by the International Automobile Federation in 2014. Teenagers aged 15 or above can participate after receiving the formula training course. The Shell Helix FIA Formula Four China Championship, founded in 2015, is a formula series in China authorized by the International Automobile Federation.
