Racing Driver Bobby Thompson

Bobby Thompson, born on July 28, 1996, is a British racing driver who has made a name for himself in the competitive world of touring car racing. Currently competing in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), Thompson has demonstrated his skill and determination across various motorsport categories. His career began in karting at a young age, progressing to the Ford Fiesta Championship in 2012. He honed his skills in the VW Racing Cup, securing the championship title in 2017 with an impressive six wins.

Thompson's journey in the BTCC started in 2018 with Team HARD., gaining valuable experience before moving to Trade Price Cars Racing in 2020. A major accident that year sidelined him, but he returned with Team HARD. in 2022, marking a significant comeback by clinching the Jack Sears Trophy. Throughout his BTCC career, Thompson has consistently shown his prowess, achieving a personal best of fourth in qualifying at Oulton Park in 2023. In 2024, Thompson joined Zeus Cloud Racing with WSR, driving a BMW 330e M Sport.

Beyond racing, Thompson is also a performance driving coach and a registered ARDS instructor, mentoring aspiring racers. His achievements and potential were recognized early on when he was identified by the Motor Sports Association (MSA) and invited to become a member of the BRDC as a Rising Star in 2018.
