Morio Nitta, born on January 30, 1967, is a highly accomplished Japanese racing driver, currently competing in the Super GT Series for K-tunes Racing. Nitta's career began in 1986, and he quickly made a name for himself in the Fuji Freshman Race. He further honed his skills in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship and the Japanese Touring Car Championship. In 1990, alongside Keiichi Suzuki, he clinched the JTC-3 class Championship while driving a Toyota Corolla Levin for Tsuchiya Engineering.
Nitta is a three-time GT300 class champion, with victories in 1996, 1999, and 2002. He also holds the record for the most races in the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship/Super GT Series, as well as the most career wins, podiums, and points in the GT300 class. His Super GT career started in 1994, and he secured his first full-time drive in 1996 with Team Taisan Jr., winning the GT300 championship in his first full season with Keiichi Suzuki. Before his success in Super GT, Nitta participated in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps seven times between 1989 and 1998, achieving a best result of 12th overall in 1989.
As of 2023, Nitta is a Bronze-rated driver under the FIA Driver Categorisation system, testament to his enduring skill and experience in the world of motorsports. He continues to be a formidable presence on the track, demonstrating his passion for racing.
