About Koki Saga
Koki Saga, born on April 25, 1983, is a Japanese racing driver with a diverse career spanning multiple racing disciplines. The son of Koei Saga, a high-ranking official at Toyota Gazoo Racing, Koki's racing journey began in karting in 1999. He then transitioned to single-seaters, competing in Formula Toyota and the Japanese Formula 3 Championship, even participating in the prestigious Macau Grand Prix in 2008 and 2009. He also gained experience in Super Taikyu. He further honed his skills in Super Formula for four seasons.
Saga made his debut in Super GT in 2006, and due to his family ties, he has always raced with Toyota or Lexus cars. He initially raced for Toyota Team Cerumo, contributing to the team's first pole position and victory. He then joined Lexus Team SARD as a third driver for the Suzuka 1000 km. Since 2010, Saga has been a part of apr Racing.
Beyond his driving talent, Koki Saga has become known for his entertaining pre-race driver introduction segments since 2018. These skits often involve elaborate costumes, team race queens, and even other drivers, all performed with a unique deadpan comedic style, making him a fan favorite in the Super GT paddock.
