Guanyu Zhou

Guanyu Zhou is a Chinese racing driver who currently competes in Formula One for Alfa Romeo. He is the first, and so far the only, Chinese driver to start a World Championship Formula One race.

Born in Shanghai, China on May 30, 1999, Zhou began karting at the age of 9. He moved to Europe in 2012 to further his racing career, and progressed through the junior single-seater ranks, winning the 2015 Italian Formula 4 Championship.

Zhou made his Formula One debut in 2022 with Alfa Romeo, partnering Valtteri Bottas. He scored a point on his debut in the Bahrain Grand Prix, and went on to score a further 5 points throughout the season. He finished his debut season in 18th place in the Drivers' Championship.

In 2023, Zhou continued with Alfa Romeo alongside Bottas. He scored a point in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and has so far scored 6 points in the 2023 season. He is currently in 19th place in the Drivers' Championship.

Zhou is a talented and determined driver, and is seen as a future star of Formula One. He is a popular figure in his home country of China, and is helping to inspire a new generation of Chinese racing drivers.
